  • Patent number: 5902230
Abstract: An electronic endoscope system which includes a device for detecting an image, and a device for inputting an information signal. The image detecting device outputs an electrical image signal, which is converted to an analog video signal and a digital video signal. The digital video signal is combined with the information signal by an image combining device, to form a digital information signal. The digital information signal is serially outputted to a device which displays the image data in accordance with the outputted serial digital information signal. The digital information signal is also serially outputted to a device which reproduces the information signal in accordance with the outputted serial digital information signal.

  • Patent number: 5877802
Abstract: A video-signal processing device is connectable to an electronic endoscope designed to output at least one kind of video signal, and comprises a character-information signal producer for producing a character-information signal on the basis of character-code data, and an adder for adding the character-information signal to the video signal outputted from the electronic endoscope, whereby the video signal carrying the character-information signal is fed outside from the device. When the endoscope further outputs a control signal in response to a turning-ON of a function switch thereof, the device comprises a memory for storing fixed character-code data; and a memory-reader for reading the fixed character-code data from the memory in response to the control signal outputted from the endoscope. The character-information signal producer produces a fixed character-information signal on the basis of the fixed character-code data read from the memory.

  • Patent number: 5708482
Abstract: An image-signal clamping circuit processes image signals obtained from a solid state image sensor provided at a distal end of an electronic endoscope which do not have a direct-current component to restore a direct-current component thereof. The clamping circuit is arranged such that the restoration of a direct-current component of an image signal can be properly and stably carried out. The clamping circuit includes a sample-and-hold circuit to temporarily store an image signal, an analog-to-digital converter to output digital image signals, a device for digitally correcting the digital image data, and a digital-to-analog converter to output corrected analog image signals. The pedestal level of the corrected output analog image signal approximates a reference pedestal level.

  • Patent number: 5227879
Abstract: Transmitting and receiving apparatus, for transmitting an input video signal having 525 lines/field progressive scanning by converting the input video signal into a signal compatible with the NTSC system, and for reproducing from that NTSC-compatible signal a video signal having 525 lines/field progressive scanning. The transmitting apparatus has a first separating system for separating vertical high frequency components in a three-dimensional horizontal-vertical-temporal domain from the input video signal; a modulating system for modulating the separated components from the first separating system by .mu.-modulation; a system for filtering a modulation output from the modulating system to remove a lower sideband component from the modulation output, the filtering system having a Nyquist characteristic; and a system for multiplexing a filtered output from the filtering system to form the NTSC-compatible signal.

  • Patent number: 5140114
Abstract: An electric contact with a base metal used as a switch wherein the non-welded peripheral portion of the contact is prevented from bow-like bending and from peeling off. The electric contact with a base metal having a contact promoting shape is formed by die forging of a contact material joined to the base metal by resistance welding. The composite contact material is prepared by coating the core material of Ag-oxide contact material with non-oxide contact material. The side of the material in contact with the base metal is of non-oxide contact material. The contact material may be pressed to fill a groove preformed in the base metal, welded to protrusions preformed in the base metal, welded to the bottom of a cut preformed in the base metal, or welded to bottoms of recesses preformed in the base metal.

  • Patent number: 5084765
Abstract: In a wide-aspect television system, apparatus is provided for producing a source television signal for a wide aspect television screen, which source signal has the same horizontal and vertical synchronizing frequencies, but fewer effective scanning lines than a conventional television system. The wideaspect television system further includes apparatus for expanding the time base of the mentioned source television signal in the horizontal direction by a predetermined ratio. Further included is an apparatus for receiving a time base-expanded television signal produced by the expanding apparatus for arranging video information of both side areas of a time base-expanded television signal into top and bottom added scanning lines. A remaining area of the time base-expanded television signal substracted by both mentioned side areas have a horizontal scanning period substantially equal to a horizontal scanning period of the conventional television system.
