  • Patent number: 7579712
Abstract: A power system protection system prevents a voltage drop resulting from the reactive power characteristic of a power system. A main device for acquiring a system electric quantity of one or a plurality of upper substations detects a voltage drop resulting from the reactive power characteristic of the power system and transmits a detection signal of the voltage drop to a terminal device for acquiring a system electric quantity of one or a plurality of lower substations. Each terminal device sequentially sheds loads starting from those suffering more from the influence of the voltage drop resulting from the reactive power characteristic based on the load voltage and load current of a load bus.

  • Patent number: 7475455
Abstract: This invention relates to a fiber-made surface fastener comprising joining faces each in which a plurality of fiber-made engaging elements are provided on one surface of each flat base fabric. By specifying a structure and composition yarns of the base fabric of the same surface fastener, the ratio (A/B) of an area A of a range in which sound spectrum of a peeling-off sound Fourier-transformed in a range of 100 Hz to 15000 Hz is 100 Hz to 3000 Hz to an area B of a range in which sound spectrum of a peeling-off sound Fourier-transformed in a range of 100 Hz to 15000 Hz is 3000 Hz to 15000 Hz is 0.4 or more. Consequently, tone of a sound generated when the surface fastener is peeled off and when the surface fastener attached on a product is peeled off is shifted to a low tone side so as to reduce an uncomfortable sound to a lower tone thereby reducing a feeling of discomfort.

  • Patent number: 7113931
Abstract: A fracture structure is grown from a plurality of starting points. A fractal structure, grown from respective starting points and interconnected by interactive growths, forms a neural network. A growth speed originated at a specific starting point is determined by the probability of a material reaching a grown portion from a remote location by means of a diffusion process and the probability of a growth promoting factor reaching a grown portion by means of a diffusion process from a portion grown from a starting point other than the specific one. Anisotropy is introduced into a space in which a fractal structure is to be grown, as required.

  • Patent number: 7068875
Abstract: The present invention provides an optical switch for making part of incident light, which has been made incident on an optical waveguide, selectively emergent to a light emergence portion provided outside the optical waveguide. The optical switch includes a liquid crystal device for selective emergence of the incident light. An arbitrary layer of the liquid crystal device is set such that letting ?n be a difference between a refractive index no of the optical waveguide and a refractive index n1 of the arbitrary layer of the liquid crystal device, “d” be a thickness of the arbitrary layer, and ? be a wavelength of the incident light, the values of ?n, “d”, and ? satisfy a condition of 2.20×10?3?|?n·d·??1|?3.03×10?3. With this optical switch, the uniformity of a light emergence efficiency can be easily realized by making use of a small change region in which the light emergence efficiency is not largely varied. The present invention also provides a display unit using the optical switches.
