  • Publication number: 20050183263
Abstract: An electronic component mounting apparatus which employs a first air feed device connected to an air passage at one end part of a spline shaft, and a second air feed device connected to the air passage in the vicinity of the other end of the spline shaft. The first and second air feeds function to supply air to the air passage to return an interior thereof to atmospheric pressure. The time required to return the vacuum pressure in the air passage to atmospheric pressure can be shortened by the use of the two separate air feeds.

  • Publication number: 20050125998
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for mounting electronic components are provided which shorten a cycle time required for mounting and enable a component mounting machine to be arranged in a small area. There is provided a controller, so that a retreat control for a second electronic component is performed to a second component feeder so as to avoid an interference if a first electronic component or a component holder interferes with the second electronic component of the second component feeder because of movement of a mounting head. The time conventionally required for moving up and down a component holder can be reduced, and moreover the need of uselessly moving along a detour at a time of moving the mounting head is eliminated. The cycle time can be shortened, and eventually costs can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 6876761
Abstract: A calibration jig for a component recognition device and a component recognition calibration method using the jig which can stabilize the mounting accuracy of a component to a to-be-mounted object and improve amount quality. An opening is formed at a to-be-picked up face of the calibration jig. A predetermined position of the calibration jig is recognized on the basis of the contrast between the picked-up face and the opening. The position of the calibration jig can be recognized with higher accuracy, so that a resolution of the component recognition device, etc. can be obtained with a higher degree of accuracy. Mount accuracy of the component to the object is thus stabilized and mount quality is improved.

  • Patent number: 6814804
Abstract: A filling squeegee and a scraping squeegee are provided in a printing apparatus. The filling squeegee is moved without contacting a surface of a mask in order to fill a solder paste into openings of the mask. Unnecessary solder paste on the surface of the mask is scraped by the scraping squeegee. The solder paste is prevented from being improperly filled in or scraped from the openings even if a speed of the squeegee is increased, so that the solder paste can be printed stably on circuit board.

  • Patent number: 6735856
Abstract: The present invention includes a component placement apparatus that can obtain information on the presence/absence of hold members inexpensively and easily, and a component placement method carried out by the component placement apparatus. A replacement hold member detector for detecting the presence/absence of replacement hold members at a hold member change part is installed at a placement head. The presence/absence is detected by moving an XY-robot so as to scan the hold member change part equipped with the replacement hold member detector. At the same time, type information attached to the replacement hold members is rendered readable by the replacement hold member detector. One replacement hold member detector is enough according to the apparatus and method of the present invention. The presence/absence information of the hold members can be obtained inexpensively and easily.

  • Patent number: 6591493
Abstract: A method of preventing a nozzle or nozzles from dropping in a component mounting apparatus include gripping the nozzle structures with pivotal levers that are biased to a closed position. The pivotal levers are released after activation of the nozzles to permit appropriate movement for picking up, inspecting, orientating and locating electronic components on a substrate with the nozzles. During the operation of the mounting head, the levers are maintained in a release position against a biasing force and at the end of the operation, the biasing force can then cause the levers to close and support the nozzles in a gripping manner.

  • Patent number: 6527905
Abstract: A method of mounting an electronic component at a specified position of an object. The method includes applying a sealant beforehand in a first application process. The sealant is quickly, sufficiently and forcibly applied in the first application process simply by avoiding electrodes at the arrangement position, and tightly contacting the arranged electronic component and the object. Then, without obstructing successive bonding of electrodes of the electronic component and the object, the bonding of the electrodes is performed in the usual manner. A second application process is carried out by applying a sealant to the periphery of the electronic component in the same manner as in the convention method, which is sufficient to cause the sealant to flow to the sealant previously applied under the electronic component. The second application process can be accordingly conducted speedily and sufficiently.

  • Patent number: 6490781
Abstract: The safety device includes an opening/closing cover which isolates a takeout part and an accommodating part of a component feeder unit from each other and which has a sensor for detecting a closed state. The component feeder unit includes the component accommodating part, a feed-out part and the takeout part, and sensors for transmission through voids common to the plurality of set component feeder units. Upon a detection by any one of the sensors during the operation of the machine, the machine is halted. For replacement of the component feeder units, a changeover switch is pressed, by which the detecting function is paused for a specified time period. Thus, a safety device which allows the component feeder units to be replaced even during the operation of the machine can be obtained.
