  • Patent number: 5742933
Abstract: A rotary storage device includes a plurality of disk units, an upper-level interface circuit, a cache controller, a cache memory, and a control processor. In each disk unit, the storage area of each disk is subdivided into an ordinary user data area and a secondary cache data storage area including a group of consecutive cylinders. Data overflowed from the cache memory is sequentially written in the secondary cache data storage area so as to be later transferred therefrom to areas of the user data area according to addresses inherent thereto when traffic of upper-level input/output processing is relatively low. In the case of when data is sought to be accessed in the cache memory during a data read operation, access operations are performed first to the secondary cache data storage area and then to the user data area.

  • Patent number: 5289033
Abstract: A semiconductor device is fabricated by placing a semiconductor chip in a lead frame which has no die pad. Electrodes of the chip are connected by bonding wires to respective lead fingers. Additionally, the lead frame has movement restricting fingers which limit horizontal movement of the chip within the lead frame during injection of resin into a mold surrounding the chip. Furthermore, the mold has horizontal movement restricting projections to limit vertical movement of the chip within the mold cavity. The restriction on horizontal and vertical movement of the chip reduces the risk of the bonding wires being broken or short circuited during the resin injection process.

  • Patent number: 5145768
Abstract: A process of producing silver halide grains by disposing a mixer outside of a reaction vessel for causing a nucleus formation and/or a crystal growth of silver halide grains and containing an aqueous protective colloid solution. The process further includes the steps of: supplying an aqueous solution of a water-soluble silver salt, an aqueous solution of a water-soluble halide(s), and an aqueous solution of a protective colloid to the mixer while controlling the flow rates of the solutions; mixing them while controlling the rotational speed of a stirring blade of the mixer to form fine, silver halide grains; and immediately supplying the fine grains into the reaction vessel to perform the nucleus formation and/or the crystal growth of the silver halide grains in the reaction vessel. The silver halide fine grains thus formed in the mixer are quickly diluted with a liquid withdrawn from the reaction vessel and then the diluted mixture is supplied to the reaction vessel.
