  • Publication number: 20040177921
Abstract: A bonding method using an anisotropic conductive adhesive, comprising the steps of forming an adhesive coating layer (4) on and along the surface (1a), having metal joint parts (2), of at least one (1) of objects to be bonded when bonding objects with metal joint parts to each other, spreading conductive particles (5) onto the surface (4a) of the adhesive layer, and thereafter bonding the metal joint parts to each other. The method can efficiently restrict conductive particles from escaping from bonding portions before and during bonding the objects to each other, ensure a sufficient number of conductive particles between the metal joint parts to be bonded to each other, and prevent conductive particles causing short circuiting from existing between adjacent metal joint parts, and easily accommodate the fining and fine pitching of metal joint parts.

  • Patent number: 6770992
Abstract: To reduce vibration caused by an unbalance of magnetic force generated in a motor portion due to run-out of a rotor in a magnetic bearing apparatus having the motor portion. The vibration of the rotor is detected by means of a radial direction sensor mounted for controlling a magnetic bearing. Then, the vibration in the motor portion is inferred from the run-out of the rotor detected by the radial direction sensor by using the geometric positional relationship between the rotor and the radial direction sensor. The relationship between the unbalance amount of the magnetic force and the amount of run-out of the rotor in the motor portion is formed into the database through experiments or simulation in advance, and the unbalance amount of magnetic force is obtained from this database. Then, the magnetic force resisting the unbalance amount of this magnetic force is generated to offset this unbalance amount.

  • Patent number: 6736593
Abstract: A protective device is provided for protecting a turbo molecular pump having a rotor mounted for undergoing rotation, an intake port for sucking gas by rotation of the rotor, and an exhaust port for exhausting the gas sucked from the intake port. The protective device has a detecting device for detecting the occurrence of an abnormal phenomenon in the turbo molecular pump. An abnormal phenomenon inference device infers a type of the abnormal phenomenon detected by the detecting device. A value obtaining device infers a magnitude of damage given to the turbo molecular pump by the abnormal phenomenon inferred by the abnormal phenomenon inference device and obtains a value weighted based on the inferred magnitude of the damage. A value accumulation device accumulates the value obtained by the value obtaining device. A sum obtaining device obtains a sum of the values accumulated in the value accumulation device.

  • Publication number: 20040082111
Abstract: A chip mounting device of the present invention includes: an adhesive application unit 11; a temporary crimp unit 12; and a main crimp unit 13. In the unit 11, a camera 21 is used for detecting base material marks for each section region on a film base material 1 and substrate marks for each substrate pattern in the section region. The detected results are transferred to the unit 12. In the unit 12, a camera 45 is used for detecting base material marks, and the position of each substrate pattern is recognized on the basis of on the detection results and the positional data of each substrate pattern transmitted from the unit 11, thereby crimping chips temporarily. This enables the chips to be mounted with high precision even when the film base material 1 is expanded and contracted. In the unit 12, there is no detection of substrate marks, which minimizes a decrease in processing efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20040053345
Abstract: Although adjuvant, or additional, therapy after surgery (e.g., adjuvant, or additional, hormonal therapy after breast cancer surgery) is performed to prevent postoperative recurrence of malignant tumors such as breast cancer, the incidence of disease recurrence still remains even if a representative drug, tamoxifen, commonly used is given. Thus, if it is possible to predict whether malignant tumors are reliably curable with tamoxifen or whether therapeutic drugs other than tamoxifen should be selected or not against such malignant tumors, it will greatly assist in the therapeutic guideline for preventing postoperative recurrence. There is a possibility that menin regulates the ER transcription activity in breast cancer cells. The expression of menin is remarkably responsible for the efficacy of estrogen antagonists (e.g., tamoxifen) having an inhibitory activity on estrogen binding to the ER. Techniques utilizing the present findings are provided.

  • Publication number: 20040047127
Abstract: A method of mounting a chip in which an underfill agent having specific viscosity behavior and a trigger temperature is applied to at least one of a substrate and the chip, bumps are press-contacted to electrodes, the underfill agent is spread around the press-contacted bumps and the electrodes between the chip and the substrate, the bumps are melted by heating while the bumps are embedded in the underfill agent to bond the molten bumps and the electrodes, and in melt-bonding the bumps, a time to wet-spread the molten bumps is kept before the underfill agent is cured. Highly reliable excellent bonding between the bumps and the electrodes can be achieved by thoroughly wet-spreading the molten bumps while secondary oxidation in the underfill agent does not occur, and the time required until the underfill agent is cured to a specified state, and further resultantly, the time required until the press of the chip is stopped can be shortened.

  • Patent number: 6677124
Abstract: A hybridoma producing a monoclonal antibody recognizing the C-terminus of human brain natriuretic peptide (hBNP) was cultivated in a medium or the abdominal cavity of a mouse to recover the monoclonal antibody from the medium or ascites accumulated in the abdominal cavity. An immunoassay for hBNP was established using the monoclonal antibody. The immunoassay for hBNP of the invention is so sensitive that the minimum detection limit is 1 pg/ml and can therefore determine the hBNP level in blood plasma directly, without the extraction of hBNP from blood plasma. It is useful for diagnosing diseases such as hypertension and the like, and states of the heart, kidney, and the like by using the increase/decrease of the hBNP level as an index.
