  • Patent number: 9605001
Abstract: The present invention relates to production of polyketides and other natural products and to libraries of compounds and individual novel compounds. One important area is the isolation and potential use of novel FKBP-ligand analogues and host cells that produce these compounds. The invention is particularly concerned with methods for the efficient transformation of strains that produce FKBP analogues and recombinant cells in which cloned genes or gene cassettes are expressed to generate novel compounds such as polyketide (especially rapamycin) FKBP-ligand analogues, and to processes for their preparation, and to means employed therein (e.g. nucleic acids, vectors, gene cassettes and genetically modified strains).

  • Publication number: 20160004271
Abstract: An accelerator pedal assembly is disclosed. The accelerator pedal assembly can include a pedal configured to be movable by a vehicle operator to control a speed of a vehicle. In addition, the accelerator pedal assembly can include an electromagnetic resistance mechanism coupled to the pedal. The electromagnetic resistance mechanism can be configured to provide a force to resist movement of the pedal by the operator to indicate an operational condition of the vehicle to the operator.

  • Publication number: 20150084336
Abstract: A corrugated coupling may be provided. The corrugated coupling may be for coupling two cylindrical corrugated sections. The corrugated coupling may be a tubular element comprising a first portion and a second portion pivotably connected along a first edge, wherein the first edge comprises an integrated hinge. Each portion may have opposing second edges that come together in a closed configuration, forming the tubular element. Each second edge may provide a portion of an integrated snap closure that is positionable in a locked position sandwiching the joining two cylindrical corrugated sections between the first portion and the second portion and an unlocked position.

  • Patent number: 8919702
Abstract: The systems and methods of the invention modulate atmospheric gases to temporarily increase the amount of atmospheric particles in the path of the debris, in order to decelerate the debris and accelerate natural orbital decay to the point of atmospheric re-entry. In one aspect of the invention, clearing the space debris includes propelling a plume of atmospheric gases substantially orthogonal to the path of the debris such that the debris collides with the gaseous plume as it passes through the plume. Increased atmospheric drag from the gaseous particles of the plume in the path of the debris obstructs a forward propagation of the debris and gradually decelerates the debris, leading eventually to atmospheric recapture.
