  • Publication number: 20200303980
Abstract: An electric machine rotor assembly includes a rotor core defining a rotor axis. Windings are seated in the rotor core. A plurality of wedges circumferentially spaced apart around the rotor core relative to the rotor axis. Each rotor core extends axially and separates between two respective portions of the windings. A supply end plate is mounted at a first axial end of the rotor core. A return end plate is mounted at a second axial end of the rotor core opposite the first axial end. A flow path for coolant fluid extends through the supply end plate into the wedges, through the wedges and into the return end plate, and through the return end plate.

  • Publication number: 20200295624
Abstract: A generator includes a stator with a stator winding, a rotor with a field winding supported for rotation relative to the stator, and a housing enclosing the stator and the rotor. The housing has an independent system port that is connected to a shared system port by a selector. The selector fluidly couples the stator and one of the independent system port and the shared system port. The selector also fluidly separates the stator from the other of the independent system port and the shared system port. Generator arrangements and methods of making generators are also described.

  • Publication number: 20200060069
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a nut planter tool comprising an elongate drop tube fixed to a dig tube. The dig tube is spaced from the drop tube with each having generally parallel central axes. A plunger assembly comprises a plunger at an inferior end that translates within the dig tube. The tool ergonomically removes a soil core that is larger than the diameter of the tree nut, delivers the nut from an ergonomic height to a proper depth for germination; and replaces the soil core, covering the tree nut. The device is utilized standing upright thus eliminating the physical labor of bending over and reducing typical nut planting time.

  • Publication number: 20190141374
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a low-latency approach for local or remote application streaming that reaches high FPS targets without overloading the available streaming bandwidth, for example, by limiting the bit rate to the same value that is used by traditional 60 FPS streaming solutions. A client device and server device cooperate to actively monitor and control a video stream to maintain an acceptable balance between latency and video quality by adjusting the frequency or resolution when necessary to improve the streaming experience. When the server device captures and transmits frames at a higher rate, the software stack executing on the client device is able to display frames with less delay, even on a display device limited to 60 Hz, thereby achieving additional latency reduction.

  • Patent number: 9720784
Abstract: A technique for cloud infrastructure backup in a virtualized environment utilizing shared storage includes obtaining a workload input/output (I/O) profile to the shared storage over a time period. An attempt to locate one or more time windows in the workload I/O profile for which a cloud infrastructure backup can be staged is initiated. In response to determining the cloud infrastructure backup can be staged during at least one of the time windows, staging of the cloud infrastructure backup is scheduled during a selected one of the time windows. In response to determining the cloud infrastructure backup cannot be staged during at least one of the time windows, an interference tolerance approach is employed for accessing the shared storage for active workloads and the cloud infrastructure backup during the staging of the cloud infrastructure backup.

  • Patent number: 9501467
Abstract: For automated text processing, the inventors devised, among other things, an exemplary system that includes an entity tagger, an entity resolver, a text segment classifier, and a relationship extractor. The entity tagger receives an input text segment, and tags named entities with the segment as being a person, company, or place. The entity resolver accesses authority files, and associates the persons and companies named in the text segment with specific entries in the files. The text segment classifier determines whether the text segment includes a relationship event, such as job-change event or merger and acquisition event, and if an event is detected, the relationship extractor determines the event role of entities named in the segment. For example, the extractor determines for a merger and acquisition event, which named company was the acquirer and which was acquired.

  • Patent number: 8935505
Abstract: A system with a processor in communication with a memory controller in communication with a plurality of memory devices wherein one of the plurality of memory devices is interposed between the memory controller and the remaining plurality of memory devices. By programming command delay in the memory controller, the command delay coordinates the execution of the command signal across all memory devices. The processor provides control signals to the memory controller that, in response, decodes the control signals and determines the mode of operation of one or more of the memory devices. The processor is also in communication with storage media and stores data in or retrieves data from the storage media.
