  • Publication number: 20190369283
Abstract: An electromagnetic sensor is configured for deployment at or near a cutting tool connected to a drill string and moveable by a horizontal directional drilling machine. The sensor comprises a housing having an exterior surface which is exposed to soil when the drill string and cutting tool move through the soil. An antenna arrangement and a power source are supported by the housing. Circuitry is disposed in the housing and coupled to the power source and the antenna arrangement. The circuitry is configured to generate a signal for transmission by the antenna arrangement, measure a performance characteristic of the antenna arrangement using a power detector coupled to at least a transmit antenna of the antenna arrangement, and detect a change in the antenna performance characteristic relative to a threshold indicative of contact between the cutting tool and a buried utility.

  • Publication number: 20190172044
Abstract: The disclosure facilitates a transaction by verifying a transaction claim request. An initiation request, including sender location data indicating a sender location, is received from a sender. A first transaction identifier associated with the transaction and the sender location data are recorded in a data structure. A claim request is received from a candidate recipient, the claim request including a second transaction identifier and recipient location data indicating a recipient location. The first and second transaction identifier are compared. The sender location and recipient location are compared based on a defined range. Based on the first and second transaction identifiers matching and the recipient location being within the defined range of the sender location, the claim request is verified, providing confirmation that the recipient is an intended recipient.

  • Patent number: 10148776
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for analyzing a plurality of clickstreams associated with a resource to identify popular navigational patterns traversed by users of the resource. The analysis provides a navigational framework for performing continued analysis on segmented portions of the identified navigational patterns. To facilitate the analysis, clickstreams associated with the resource are analyzed to identify sets of clickstreams that have a common group of assets with which users of the resource interacted. Navigational patterns, which include commonly traversed series of assets interacted with by the users, are determined for the identified sets. The navigational pattern is then provided to identify popular navigational patterns traversed by users of the resource.

  • Patent number: 10082561
Abstract: A symbiotic radar and communication system is disclosed. The system includes a plurality of base stations in communication with a wider communication network, each base station being configured to transmit and receive communication signals to and from a plurality of user terminals. The system performs communication data processing and radar data processing on received signals so that target object reflections contained therein can be resolved. Preferably, initial radar data processing is performed at each base station which embeds time and position information into the data and communicates it to a central radar server, the central server combining the received data from several of the base stations into a single range resolution profile.

  • Patent number: 10021001
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed toward systems and methods for analyzing event sequence data. Additionally, the present disclosure is directed toward systems and methods for providing visualizations of event sequence data analyses. For example, systems and methods described herein can analyze event sequence data related to websites and provide matrix-based visualizations of the event sequence data. The matrix-based visualization can be interactive and can allow a user to trace changes in traffic volume across webpages and hyperlinks of a website.

  • Patent number: 9930788
Abstract: Coupling an electrical connector to a printed circuit board (PCB) involves disposing forms of conductive bonding agent on the PCB, pressing spring-loaded power pins of an electrical connector towards a surface of the PCB, heating the forms of conductive bonding agent, thereby at least partially melting the forms, pressing the spring-loaded power pins into the melted forms of conductive bonding agent, and holding the power pins in the forms until the forms have cooled enough to form a bond that holds the power pins, thereby forming an electrical connection between the one or more pins and the PCB. The spring-loaded power pins are configured to automatically lift away from the surface of the PCB when the bond is weakened.

  • Publication number: 20180046993
Abstract: A system and method are provided for transferring money from a sender to a receiver. According to the method, non-private identifying information is received. The non-private identifying information is used to determine the identity of the receiver, and an indication is received of an amount of money to be transferred from the sender to the receiver. An account of the sender is debited and an account of the receiver is credited based on the amount of money to be transferred.

  • Patent number: 9838435
Abstract: Different types of soft-lockout policies can be associated with different organizations (or groups) in an identity management system. Each soft-lockout policy can indicate different parameters such as a number of login attempts allowed and an amount of time that a user account will be locked-out if the maximum allowed attempts are exceeded unsuccessfully. Users can be associated with the different organizations. For each user, the soft-lockout policies for the organization with which that user is associated are applied to that user when that user attempts to log in. Thus, different groups of users can be handled with different security behaviors regarding unsuccessful login attempts. If, for example, a user were to become moved from one organization to another, then the soft-lockout policies associated with the user's new organization would become applicable to that user.

  • Patent number: 9407015
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for automatically disconnecting a power source in an electronic device. A data storage device is disclosed comprising a printed circuit board (PCB) and an electrical connector secured to the PCB, the electrical connector including a power pin having a power input contact portion configured to receive power from a communication interface connector, a substantially straight portion connected between the power input contact portion and a bend in the power pin, and an output arm connected between the bend at a first end and a power output contact portion at a second end, the power output contact portion being configured to be electrically coupled to the PCB via an electrical connection medium. The bend causes the output arm to lift away from the PCB when a bond between the power output contact portion and the electrical connection medium is broken.

  • Patent number: 9274046
Abstract: A method for analyzing organ samples using hyperspectral imaging comprising illuminating an organ sample to generate interacted photons, collecting the interacted photons and passing the interacted photons through a tunable filter. The filtered interacted photons are detected to generate a hyperspectral image. A brightfield image is generated and associated with the hyperspectral image. Spectra from locations of interest are extracted and analyzed to assess a characteristic of the organ sample. A system may comprise an illumination source to illuminate an organ sample and generate interacted photons, a collection optics for collecting the interacted photons and a tunable filter to filter the interacted photons. A detector is configured to detect the filtered photons and generate at least one hyperspectral image. The detector may also be configured to generate at least one brightfield image representative of the organ sample.
