Publication number: 20150378004Abstract: A symbiotic radar and communication system is disclosed. The system includes a plurality of base stations in communication with a wider communication network, each base station being configured to transmit and receive communication signals to and from a plurality of user terminals. The system performs communication data processing and radar data processing on received signals so that target object reflections contained therein can be resolved. Preferably, initial radar data processing is performed at each base station which embeds time and position information into the data and communicates it to a central radar server, the central server combining the received data from several of the base stations into a single range resolution profile.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 17, 2014Publication date: December 31, 2015Applicant: UNIVERSITY OF CAPE TOWNInventors: Alan Wilson-Langman, Michael Raymond Inggs, Amit Kumar Mishra

Publication number: 20150199500Abstract: Different types of soft-lockout policies can be associated with different organizations (or groups) in an identity management system. Each soft-lockout policy can indicate different parameters such as a number of login attempts allowed and an amount of time that a user account will be locked-out if the maximum allowed attempts are exceeded unsuccessfully. Users can be associated with the different organizations. For each user, the soft-lockout policies for the organization with which that user is associated are applied to that user when that user attempts to log in. Thus, different groups of users can be handled with different security behaviors regarding unsuccessful login attempts. If, for example, a user were to become moved from one organization to another, then the soft-lockout policies associated with the user's new organization would become applicable to that user.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 13, 2015Publication date: July 16, 2015Inventors: Achyut Ramchandra Jagtap, Gregory Alan Wilson, Shailesh Kumar Mishra

Publication number: 20140209182Abstract: The present invention provides an improved method of manufacturing a rupture disk and specifically of forming a score on a rupture disk. The method of the present invention includes the rotating of a rupture disk blank relative to an electrical discharge machining or “EDM” cutting wire and the simultaneous moving of the EDM cutting wire toward the axis of the disk while maintaining the wire in a selected position such as generally parallel to the disk peripheral skirt or flange. The rotation of the disk and the movement of the EDM wire can be precisely controlled with the motion system of a commercially available EDM machine. With the present invention, a precise score is cut a partial distance through the disk thickness and preferably on the convex side of the dome, near the transition from the dome to the flange and in a generally “c” shaped pattern. The formed score creates a pattern of weakness so that the disk will open in either of the forward or reverse buckling direction.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 10, 2013Publication date: July 31, 2014Applicant: Oklahoma Safety Equipment Company, Inc.Inventor: Alan Wilson

Patent number: 8733383Abstract: An overpressure indicating disk apparatus for indicating an overpressure condition in a pressurized system includes a body having end portions, a bore, and a reverse buckling disk having an annular peripheral portion and a concave convex dome portion. The annular portion surrounds the dome. The first end portion is attached and in pressure communication to the pressurized system. The pressure in the bore is the same pressure as the pressure of the pressurized system. The annular peripheral portion is mounted to the body. An indicating component/ring is affixed to the body and disk. A central tab is mounted inside the ring. The concave side faces the central tab. The convex side faces the pressure inside the bore. When the pressure in the bore exceeds a preselected maximum pressure value, the disk reverses to engage and displace the central tab thereby indicating visually that an overpressure condition exists within the bore.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 2013Date of Patent: May 27, 2014Assignee: Oklahoma Safety Equipment Company, Inc.Inventor: Alan Wilson

Publication number: 20140093147Abstract: A method for analyzing organ samples using hyperspectral imaging comprising illuminating an organ sample to generate interacted photons, collecting the interacted photons and passing the interacted photons through a tunable filter. The filtered interacted photons are detected to generate a hyperspectral image. A brightfield image is generated and associated with the hyperspectral image. Spectra from locations of interest are extracted and analyzed to assess a characteristic of the organ sample. A system may comprise an illumination source to illuminate an organ sample and generate interacted photons, a collection optics for collecting the interacted photons and a tunable filter to filter the interacted photons. A detector is configured to detect the filtered photons and generate at least one hyperspectral image. The detector may also be configured to generate at least one brightfield image representative of the organ sample.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 3, 2013Publication date: April 3, 2014Applicant: Chemlmage CorporationInventors: Shona Stewart, Patrick Treado, Heather Kirschner, Alan Wilson, Ryan Priore, Jeffrey Cohen, Serena Augustine
