  • Publication number: 20190237954
Abstract: A cable insertion and strain relief device for switch cabinets, consisting of an installation housing and a grommet housing, designed as a half-shell housing, having a plurality of cable inlets and associated seals and strain relief elements suitable for the cables to be inserted, which grommet housing can be connected to the installation housing by insertion and can be locked by means of a locking bow, is known from the prior art. However, this makes the adjustment of the length of the cables within the switch cabinet extremely difficult. Finally, the unlocked plug connector automatically has a larger distance from the switch cabinet in the complex assembly process than in the installed state. The excessively large cable length resulting therefrom produces corresponding stresses and transverse forces of the cables on the contacts/cable connections of the components within the switch cabinet.

  • Patent number: 7942688
Abstract: The invention proposes a locking device for a two-part connector housing. This locking device consists of two locking elements in connection with an actuating handle. The locking elements respectively consist of a one-piece wire element and feature on one end a part that is shaped in the form of an open eyelet and serves for encompassing a bearing pin of a first connector housing half. On the other end, they feature a part that is shaped in the form of an indentation and serves for producing a snap connection with a locking pin of the second connector housing half. Since the locking elements are manufactured of a flexible spring steel wire, they can be elastically bent such that they can be pushed over the bearing pins of an existing connector housing half and engaged at this location in order to allow the retrofitting of an already installed connector with a locking device with superior environmental resistance.

  • Publication number: 20110028025
Abstract: The invention pertains to a connecting device for a multiconductor electric cable that features a carrier body (11) and comprises several connecting units (1), wherein each connecting unit features a chamber (12) with an insulation displacement termination (15) that is arranged in the carrier body and each conductor is inserted into the corresponding chamber (12) axially referred to the corresponding insulation displacement termination (15), and wherein the invention proposes to provide exactly one slide (13) for each chamber (12) in order to press the conductor that transversely extends through the chamber (12) into the respective insulation displacement termination (15). This makes it possible to contact each conductor individually, manually and with a correspondingly low expenditure of force and a simple tool. The described arrangement therefore can be assembled on site. The contact of each individual conductor can also be interrupted again.
