Patent number: 8038463Abstract: A device for securing a connector in an insulating module housing particularly a USB connector is disclosed. The module housing contains a connection region with at least one location spring arranged therein, wherein the spring end of the location spring is aligned in the connection direction. The spring ends protrude into the connection region so that connectors with non-standardized outside dimensions, inserted between the spring ends are prevented from falling out of the module housing.Type: GrantFiled: May 2, 2005Date of Patent: October 18, 2011Assignee: Harting Electric GmbH & Co. KGInventor: Albert Ferderer

Patent number: 7942688Abstract: The invention proposes a locking device for a two-part connector housing. This locking device consists of two locking elements in connection with an actuating handle. The locking elements respectively consist of a one-piece wire element and feature on one end a part that is shaped in the form of an open eyelet and serves for encompassing a bearing pin of a first connector housing half. On the other end, they feature a part that is shaped in the form of an indentation and serves for producing a snap connection with a locking pin of the second connector housing half. Since the locking elements are manufactured of a flexible spring steel wire, they can be elastically bent such that they can be pushed over the bearing pins of an existing connector housing half and engaged at this location in order to allow the retrofitting of an already installed connector with a locking device with superior environmental resistance.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 2010Date of Patent: May 17, 2011Assignee: Harting Electric GmbH & Co. KGInventors: Albert Ferderer, Frank Quast

Publication number: 20110028025Abstract: The invention pertains to a connecting device for a multiconductor electric cable that features a carrier body (11) and comprises several connecting units (1), wherein each connecting unit features a chamber (12) with an insulation displacement termination (15) that is arranged in the carrier body and each conductor is inserted into the corresponding chamber (12) axially referred to the corresponding insulation displacement termination (15), and wherein the invention proposes to provide exactly one slide (13) for each chamber (12) in order to press the conductor that transversely extends through the chamber (12) into the respective insulation displacement termination (15). This makes it possible to contact each conductor individually, manually and with a correspondingly low expenditure of force and a simple tool. The described arrangement therefore can be assembled on site. The contact of each individual conductor can also be interrupted again.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 12, 2010Publication date: February 3, 2011Inventor: Albert Ferderer
