  • Patent number: 6398221
Abstract: The polyhedron globe puzzle system of this invention comprises a plurality of scalene triangles with attachment means so as to form a generally spherical body on which is inscribed a world map such that the position of the scalene triangles contains latent and patent information and intelligence about the geography of the world map including but not limited to longitudinal and latitudinal information. The 360 edges of the 240'dron form themselves into 21 circumscribing polygons which, when projected on to a concentric true sphere, become Great Circles.

  • Publication number: 20020028968
Abstract: A process for the production of an aromatic carboxylic acid comprising contacting in the presence of a catalyst, within a continuous flow reactor, one or more precursors of the aromatic carboxylic acid with an oxidant, such contact being effected with said precursor(s) and the oxidant in an aqueous solvent comprising water under supercritical conditions or near supercritical conditions close to the supercritical point such that said one or more precursors, oxidant and aqueous solvent constitute a substantially single homogeneous phase in the reaction zone, wherein the contact of at least part of said precursor with said oxidant is contemporaneous with contact of said catalyst with at least part of said oxidant.

  • Publication number: 20010054303
Abstract: A circular knit blank for use in the manufacture of undergarments and the garments so manufactured comprising a tubular knit body having an elastomeric yarn on selected courses, wherein said tubular body contains at least one area of control that has a stitch pattern increasing the modulus by about 8%, to provide a balance of comfort and control. The stitch pattern is preferably a 1 by 1 alternating tuck.

  • Patent number: 6125664
Abstract: Methods of manufacturing a brassiere, a blank for the manufacture of the brassiere and the brassiere and blank so produced are provided. The brassiere has an outer fabric and an inner fabric. The yarn and knit stitches for the inner fabric are selected to provide comfort to the wearer. The blank is formed in a generally cylindrical shape with a bottom welt band seamlessly joined to a bottom edge of an upper torso part formed in the outer fabric and to a bottom edge of an upper torso part formed in the inner fabric. Front and rear strap portions are formed in the upper torso parts.

  • Patent number: 6065937
Abstract: A high efficiency axial flow fan includes a hub, fan blades and a circular band. The hub rotates about a rotational axis when torque is applied from a shaft rotatably driven by a power source. The circular band is concentric with the hub, connected to the tip of each blade, and is spaced radially outward from the hub. The blades are configured to produce an airflow when rotated about the rotational axis. Each blade has a chord length distribution, stagger angle and dihedral (axial) distance which varies along the length of the blade. The dihedral distance of each blade varies as a function of blade radius from the rotational axis.

  • Patent number: 4104286
Abstract: A process is provided for isolating the crystalline chemical compound, cholesterol, from dried whole egg and dried egg yolk obtained from domestic hen eggs. This process provides not only free cholesterol, but also edible whole egg that is reduced in cholesterol and edible egg yolk powder that is reduced in cholesterol. The process includes extraction with aqueous ethanol, saponification in aqueous ethanolic alkali metal hydroxide, and concentration and purification with a hydrocarbon solvent and methanol. The products obtained include free cholesterol, essentially cholesterol-free edible egg powder, i.e., either whole egg or egg yolk, and saponified fats, recovered in the form of their salts.
