  • Publication number: 20110197879
Abstract: The invention is related to solar collectors intended to perform technological processes and specifically, to solar collectors used for concentration by evaporation of aqueous solutions. The proposed solar collector concentrates the aqueous solution by combination of heating the upper thin layer of this solution (this heating is accompanied with evaporation a significant part of this layer) and carrying away of the obtained vapors from the internal space of the solar collector by air stream introduced constantly into the internal space. In another version of this invention the obtained vapors are condensing on the surface of cooling water flowing through the solar collector.

  • Patent number: 7803154
Abstract: A cryoprobe for surgical and other treatments. The cryoprobe comprises an expandable section that performs displacement of a distal cryotip forwards when there is elevation of the operation pressure in the interior of the cryoprobe. Needle-wise metal elements are installed on the external side of the cryotip. These needle-wise elements are deflecting outwards by a deflecting member fastened on the distal edge of an external shaft of the cryoprobe. This allows a significant enlargement of the frozen volume of the treated tissue with the same operation temperature and the outer diameter of the cryoprobe. In another embodiment, the needle elements are formed in a displaceable metal sheath and a distal section of a cryotip and/or special protrusions on this distal section act as the deflecting member.

  • Publication number: 20100162730
Abstract: A siphon for delivery of a liquid cryogen from a container such as a Dewar flask. The siphon ensures delivery of a liquid cryogen with a lower proportion of the gaseous fraction. The siphon comprises a central feeding conduit, which is largely contained within the Dewar flask. There is an auxiliary conduit surrounding the central feeding conduit; the outer upper section of this auxiliary conduit is provided with an adjustable valve intended to release a gaseous fraction of the cryogen contained in the annular gap between the auxiliary and central feeding conduits. The upper section of the central feeding conduit is provided with an external layer of a porous capillary coating or with a wick; this ensures that the upper section of the central feeding conduit is continuously wetted with the liquid cryogen. This porous capillary coating prevents gasification of the liquid cryogen in the central feeding conduit.

  • Patent number: 7731711
Abstract: The invention proposes a cryosurgical instrument and its accessory system operating on the base of a refrigerant evaporation. The invention comprises combination of some technical solutions. Flow in a central lumen of the cryosurgical instrument has oscillating character; the refrigerant is provided on the internal surface of the distal cryotip in the form of separated portions. 2. The internal surface of the distal cryotip of the cryosurgical instrument is covered by a porous coating, which soaks completely one portion of the refrigerant. 3. Vapors obtained as a result of the refrigerant boiling on the porous coating of the cryotip are removed through the central lumen into the atmosphere. Combination of these technical solutions allows to construct a safely cryosurgical instrument with high freezing power and small outer diameter. The proposed cryosurgical instrument may be designed as a flexible cryocatheter or as a rigid cryoprobe.

  • Patent number: 7577861
Abstract: A method and apparatus is described herein for serializing input data streams into an output data stream. A first and second input data stream are sampled upon rising edges of a first and second clocking signal, respectively, to reduce jitter from dependence on the falling edges of the clocking signals. The second clocking signal is 180 degrees out of phase with the first clocking signal to sample the first input data stream in the first unit interval of an output data stream and the second input data stream in the second unit interval of the output data stream. Consequently, a serialized output data stream is driven at twice the frequency of both the first and the second input data streams, including logical information from the first and second input data streams every period of the output data stream.

  • Publication number: 20090183179
Abstract: A platform enables a business to learn about a user based on characteristics of the user and without knowing the identity of the user. The business specifies characteristics of users of interest to the business. When a platform user begins a session, a process representing the platform user interacts with the business's specification so that the business obtains the characteristics of the user without knowing the identity of the user. If the user's characteristics match the business's specification, then the platform takes an action specified by the business, such as sending an offer or advertisement to the user.
