  • Publication number: 20160069218
Abstract: A power plant system has a heat-generating unit for providing thermal energy; a water-steam circuit, which is connected to the heat-generating unit for heat transfer; an electricity-generating device, which can be energised by the thermal energy conducted in the water-steam circuit to generate electricity; and a thermochemical accumulator, which is connected to the water-steam circuit. The thermochemical accumulator is connected to an exhaust gas line of the heat-generating unit for heat transfer, and the thermochemical accumulator has two tanks, which are connected to each other for fluid flow. A thermochemical storage material is arranged in a first tank, and the first tank is supplied with heat by thermally conditioned exhaust gas of the heat-generating unit, and the second tank is connected for heat flow to a heat exchanger, by which the second tank is supplied with low-temperature heat at a temperature level of at most 150° C.

  • Publication number: 20160040558
Abstract: A thermal power plant has a primary heat supply, a steam generator, a steam turbine and an auxiliary gas turbine, wherein the primary heat supply is fluidically connected to the steam generator, wherein the auxiliary gas turbine is fluidically connected to the steam generator and is set up to keep the steam generator at a predefined minimum temperature when the primary heat supply is off-line, wherein a fan is encompassed, which fan is fluidically connected to the steam generator. A method is for the variable-power operation of such a thermal power plant, wherein the auxiliary gas turbine is brought on-line in dependence on an operating state of the primary heat supply, which is defined by the power to be provided by the latter.

  • Publication number: 20150361883
Abstract: A gas turbine plant includes a gas turbine having a compressor, a combustion chamber and an expander; and a water-steam circuit which is thermally connected to the gas turbine such that during the operation of the gas turbine, waste gas drawn off therefrom transfers heat to the water-steam circuit in order to generate steam. The water-steam circuit is further thermally connected to a heat accumulator which in turn is thermally connected to a container for storing water. The container is fluidically coupled to the gas turbine such that water can be supplied from the container to the gas turbine during the operation of the latter in order to increase output. A flash valve is connected between the container and the gas turbine, the valve being designed to reduce the pressure of the water taken from the container to a lower pressure level.

  • Publication number: 20150252274
Abstract: A process for gasifying solid or liquid gasification materials, in particular biomass, at pressures in the range from atmospheric pressure to 10 MPa and at gasification temperatures in the range from 800° C. to 1500° C. to form a highly calorific synthesis gas. An endothermic steam gasification process proceeds in a gasification space of an entrained flow gasifier, and a plasma of intermediate temperature (typically <3500° C., preferably <2000° C.) introduces heat of reaction into the gasification space in such a quantity that the gasification temperature is kept below the ash softening temperature of 1500° C. Endothermic reactions, in particular reactions having a high activation energy, proceed at high rates at far lower gas temperatures than in the case of a thermal process. The gasification process, which does not require an oxygen plant, gives a crude gas which is free of hydrocarbons.

  • Publication number: 20150221997
Abstract: A control system for controlling the temperature in a high-temperature battery to which hot air is supplied via an air duct system or in a high-temperature electrolyzer to which hot air is supplied via an air duct system is provided. The control system includes at least two temperature probes designed to detect the temperature at two different points in the air duct system, at least one first air-conditioning unit for physically conditioning the air, mounted in the air duct system upstream of the high-temperature battery or high-temperature electrolyzer, and a recirculation duct which recirculates hot air discharged from the high-temperature battery or high-temperature electrolyzer to a point in the air duct system upstream of the high-temperature battery or high-temperature electrolyzer and feeds the hot air back into the air duct system. The control system controls the first air-conditioning unit in accordance with the temperatures detected by the temperature probes.
