  • Publication number: 20170099643
Abstract: Incorporation of a mesh base station in a wireless network is presented herein. The mesh base station can utilize common wireless resource allocations as a corresponding wireless base station while transmitting to wireless subscriber stations during the same time period. The mesh base station obtains a data packet from the wireless base station over a backhaul link during a scheduled time period and transmits the data packet to the designated wireless subscriber station during another scheduled time period. The wireless base station and the mesh base station can also receive data packets from wireless subscriber stations during a same time period. A wireless network can be configured with two mesh base stations at an approximate boundary of two adjacent sector coverage areas, where a coverage area is supported by a wireless base station and each mesh base station supports wireless subscriber stations within a coverage radius.

  • Publication number: 20170093676
Abstract: An analytics and diagnostic node according to the present disclosure monitors oversubscription and determines flow metrics by receiving mirror command frames from one or more switching nodes. The mirror command frames could correspond to a multiple flows traversing over a connection within a network. The analytics and diagnostic node collects at least one latency metric for each of the flows using timestamps found within the mirror command frames. Based on the latency metrics and timestamps, the analytic diagnostic node determines an average data rate for each of the flows. The analytics and diagnostic node also computes the cumulative data rates corresponding to different bucket intervals based on the average data rates. To detect oversubscription, the analytics and diagnostic node compares the cumulative data rates with one or more oversubscription rules.

  • Patent number: 9609233
Abstract: Disclosed are a method and apparatus for adjusting a set of luminance values associated with a set of visual elements in a current frame (310) of a video sequence for object detection (370). The method determines (410,430,450), for each of a plurality of scenarios (SO, SI, S2), a set of adjusted luminance values based on a corresponding luminance compensation value, and accumulates (460), for each scenario, a set of brightness counts and darkness counts of the current frame based on the set of adjusted luminance values. A metric (470) is calculated for each scenario based on the set of brightness counts and darkness counts and one of scenarios is selected based on the calculated metric. The method then selects (350) the adjusted luminance value associated with the selected scenario as an adjusted set of luminance values associated with the current frame of the video sequence.

  • Publication number: 20170085465
Abstract: A technique for loop avoidance in repeater networks involves a first repeater, having a first node number or a first weight, connecting to a second repeater with the second repeater being a child node of the first repeater. The first repeater assigns a second node number or the first weight to the second repeater. At least a portion of the second node number of the second repeater includes the first node number of the first repeater. At least a portion of the first node number includes a node number that is an identification unique to one of a plurality of repeaters as a root node in a tree structure formed by at least some of the repeaters including the first and the second repeaters. Loops may be avoided by comparing the weights of two nodes in a repeater network that attempt to establish connection between nodes having the same weight.

  • Publication number: 20170085313
Abstract: Each independent repeater network may be associated with a respective network weight and a respective group identifier. When two repeater networks with the same group identifier merge, configuration may flow from the network with a higher network weight to the network with a lower network weight. When two repeater networks with different group identifiers merge, configuration may flow from the connecting host interface of a repeater of one of the networks to the connecting client interface of a repeater of the other network. In cases of simultaneous connection between two networks, group identifier change may take precedence over configuration update caused by the merging of the two networks.
