  • Publication number: 20110150282
Abstract: Disclosed herein are a method, system, and computer program product for aligning an input video frame from a video sequence with a background model associated with said video sequence. The background model includes a plurality of model blocks (820, 830), each one of the plurality of model blocks (820, 830) being associated with at least one mode (821, 822, 823, 831, 832, 833, 834), wherein each mode (821, 822, 823, 831, 832, 833, 834) includes a plurality of frequency domain attributes. The method selects, for each one of the plurality of model blocks, a reference mode dependent upon a mode of the corresponding model block, generates a background reference image (840) comprising the plurality of selected reference blocks (841, 842), and then aligns the input frame with the background model (810), based on the background reference image (810).

  • Publication number: 20110145643
Abstract: A test framework architecture that separates the generation of random test actions from test execution and provides a way to record the state of the system under test at user controlled intervals. This saved state is used to bring the test system to the last known state before failure and then execute the much smaller set of actions to the point of failure, thus requiring shorter run time. Given the same time constraints, this enables the execution of this smaller set more frequently, providing better bug fix verification and shorter reproduction time.

  • Publication number: 20110134909
Abstract: Described is a technology by which a relay is coupled (e.g., by a wire) to a network and (e.g., by a wireless link) to an endpoint. Incoming data packets directed towards the endpoint are processed by the relay according to an error correction scheme, such as one that replicates packets. The reprocessed packets, which in general are more robust against packet loss, are then sent to the endpoint. For outgoing data packets received from the endpoint, the relay reprocesses the outgoing packets based upon the error correction scheme, such as to remove redundant packets before transmitting them to the network over the wire. Also described are various error correction schemes, and various types of computing devices that may be used as relays. The relay may be built into the network infrastructure, and/or a directory service may be employed to automatically find a suitable relay node for an endpoint device.

  • Publication number: 20110071999
Abstract: A search engine stores different taxonomies that each specifies categories and relationships between the categories. When the search engine receives a request having a search query, the search engine determines which taxonomy, if any, it should use to generate a search engine results page. The search engine bases this determination upon information provided to it in the request, in one embodiment. For example, the search engine might select a taxonomy based on the particular environment from which the search query originated. However, the search engine can select the taxonomy based on other information, such as a role of the user. Thus, a medical researcher and a financial analyst for a particular corporation could receive search engine results pages that were generated with appropriate taxonomies for each of them.

  • Patent number: 7895175
Abstract: A method and apparatus for client-side federated search is provided. The user subscribes to a number of information providers, wherein a list of the information providers for the user is stored at a search engine. When the user at a client device submits a search query to the search engine, the search engine responds by sending general search results to the client device, along with search instructions that instruct the client device how to automatically initiate a search at information providers in which the user is interested. Without any further input from the user, the client device uses the search instructions to initiate searches at information providers in which the user is interested. When the client receives search results from the information providers, the client device displays the general search results concurrently with the information provider search results.
