  • Publication number: 20120209771
Abstract: A technique for tracking conversion of an online offer includes tracking online and/or offline transactions. A customer accepts an offer provided by a merchant and submits his or her account information so that he or she may receive a reward for satisfying criteria associated with the offer. Transactions of the merchant are then monitored at the payment processor level to determine whether the customer satisfies the purchase criteria. Therefore, online and offline conversion can both be tracked. Further, the merchant is able to determine the overall effectiveness of advertising campaigns by analyzing the number of offers that are both accepted and satisfied.

  • Publication number: 20120209695
Abstract: A technique for determining the effectiveness of an offer includes analyzing views, clicks, acceptances and satisfactions of the offer. Transaction data is retrieved to determine whether criteria of the offer has been satisfied. As a result, a total cost per transaction may be determined for an advertisement campaign that incorporates the offer. Further, detailed queries may be issued to identify areas in which the offer needs improvement.

  • Publication number: 20120173565
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for using keywords to navigate to web pages on the Internet. In one implementation, a system includes a processor and a memory. The memory stores instructions that cause the processor to receive a search string from a website, the search string being entered by a website visitor using a browser. The processor uses a database to locate a keyword associated with the website that matches the search string. The processor determines a web page address associated with the keyword and causes the browser to be directed to the web page address. In another aspect, a method for managing keywords used for directing a browser to a web page hosted at a website, is disclosed. The method includes receiving a domain name for the website from a user and verifying that the user is authorized to provide keywords for the domain name.

  • Publication number: 20120166925
Abstract: Information regarding a mobile user's context including but not limited to current mobile activity, social relations and associations history, and past mobile, search and browsing history is identified and converted to metadata. Metadata is also applied to content sources delivering content to a search engine or personalized content engine. The metadata is used in part to determine the relative display of content objects delivered to the mobile user as search results or a personalized aggregated information resource, e.g., home page. The user may select information, from one or more entities or search results or as presented to the user in other contexts, to be automatically delivered to the user's home page as a content feed including multiple content objects or content feeds associated with an entity. Information regarding mobile user activity is compiled and used to permit publishers and advertisers to identify target candidates to receive advertisements or marketing materials.

  • Publication number: 20120159444
Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for fusing debug information from different compiler stages. Embodiments of the invention fuse debug information from a plurality of different compile stages in a code generation process into a single set of debug information. The single set of debug information maps directly between instructions and symbols (e.g., source code) input to a first compile stage and instructions and symbols (e.g., machine code) output from a last compile stage.

  • Publication number: 20120147639
Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling a modular three-phase converter including two or more interleaved, parallel connected Voltage Source Converters (VSCs) utilizing a hybrid Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVM) control scheme are provided. For the hybrid SVM control scheme, six active vectors utilized for SVM define six sectors in a space vector plane. Each sector is divided into two or more regions having corresponding optimal SVM switching sequences. In operation, a revolving reference voltage vector is sampled to provide a reference voltage vector. The SVM controller then identifies one of the regions in one of the sectors that corresponds to an angle and, in some embodiments, a magnitude of the revolving reference voltage vector and applies the corresponding optimal SVM switching sequence to the two or more interleaved, parallel connected VSCs.

  • Publication number: 20120144495
Abstract: Embodiments are directed to securing mixed-mode applications in a semi-trusted environment. In an embodiment, a computer system securely loads native data files associated with a mixed-mode application. The secure loading ensures that the native components upon which the managed component depends are authentic. The computer system implements a securely stored handle associated with the loaded native data files to provide secure communications between the managed component and the loaded native data files. The handle provides a trusted function pointer to an associated mixed-mode application function. The computer system also initiates a security permission request for each resource that is passed to the native components during execution of the mixed-mode application, so that each resource is verified before execution.

  • Publication number: 20120125783
Abstract: A method and system for probing mobile ion diffusivity and electrochemical reactivity on a nanometer length scale of a free electrochemically active surface includes a control module that biases the surface of the material. An electrical excitation signal is applied to the material and induces the movement of mobile ions. An SPM probe in contact with the surface of the material detects the displacement of mobile ions at the surface of the material. A detector measures an electromechanical strain response at the surface of the material based on the movement and reactions of the mobile ions. The use of an SPM tip to detect local deformations allows highly reproducible measurements in an ambient environment without visible changes in surface structure. The measurements illustrate effective spatial resolution comparable with defect spacing and well below characteristic grain sizes of the material.
