  • Publication number: 20130146590
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods are disclosed for applying radio frequency (RF) energy from a source of electromagnetic energy to an object in an energy application zone. At least one processor may be configured to acquire information indicative of electromagnetic energy loss associated with at least a portion of the energy application zone. The processor may be further configured to determine a weight to be applied to each of a plurality of electromagnetic field patterns each having a known electromagnetic field intensity distribution and cause the source to supply each of the plurality of electromagnetic field patterns to the energy application zone at the determined weights.

  • Publication number: 20130150739
Abstract: A method includes providing an elongated probe having a longitudinal axis and a distal end, and capable of rotation of the distal end about the longitudinal axis in mutually opposite first and second directions. While an operator manipulates the probe within a body of a patient, the rotation that is applied to the distal end is sensed automatically. An alert is issued to the operator upon sensing that the rotation is in the second direction, but not when the sensed rotation is in the first direction.

  • Publication number: 20130151604
Abstract: Affiliations between users may be facilitated across multiple virtual spaces accessible via virtual environments. Affiliations may be established within individual ones of two or more virtual spaces. A given affiliation within a given virtual space may include a discrete group of users with a relationship having a functional significance within the given virtual space. The affiliations may include a first affiliation within a first virtual space between a group of users including a first user and a second user. A recommendation may be provided for potential affiliations to users in the two or more virtual spaces such that responsive to the first user having an account in a second virtual space, and responsive to the second user creating an account in the second virtual space, the first user may be recommended to the second user for a potential affiliation in the second virtual space based on the first affiliation.

  • Patent number: 8464195
Abstract: An integrated circuit clock analysis system receives a cell library of gates of the integrated circuit and generates a macro model for each of the gates, where each macro model includes at least one of a nonlinear current source model, an input parasitics model or a nonlinear capacitors model. The system then tunes the macro models and generates a simulation deck from an electrical netlist of a layout of the integrated circuit and the tuned macro models. The system then performs clock analysis simulation based on the simulation deck.

  • Patent number: 8464335
Abstract: The present disclosure provides distributed, multi-tenant Virtual Private Network (VPN) cloud systems and methods for mobile security and user based policy enforcement. In an exemplary embodiment, plural mobile devices are configured to connect to one or more enforcement or processing nodes over VPN connections. The enforcement or processing nodes are configured to perform content filtering, policy enforcement, and the like on some or all of the traffic from the mobile devices. The present invention is described as multi-tenant as it can connect to plural clients across different companies with different policies in a single distributed system. Advantageously, the present invention allows smartphone and tablet users to protect themselves from mobile malware, without requiring a security applications on the device. It allows administrators to seamless enforce policy for a user regardless of the device or network they are connecting to, as well as get granular visibility into the user's network behavior.

  • Patent number: 8464063
Abstract: A system creates a trusted group of devices for single sign on. The trusted group is a set of two or more devices which can communicate securely to exchange information about the states of the devices. The two or more devices can arrange or establish the trusted group through the exchange of credentials or authentication information. After the establishment of the trusted group, the two or more devices may communicate through a secure connection established between the members of the trusted group. Each device may then execute normally and may encounter events that change the status of the device. Information about the locking or unlocking of the computer can be exchanged with the other members of the trusted group and the other members may also lock or unlock in concert.

  • Publication number: 20130143755
Abstract: Aspects of the present invention include methods for determining a transplant category of a subject having a transplant. Common mechanisms of rejection injury are uncovered across different tissue transplants, and provide a means to understand rational drug design. Various sources of tissues are examined form the patient for understanding AR mechanism (graft biopsy), as well as monitoring by minimal invasive means (blood) or non-invasive means (urine for the kidney allograft). For biomarker discovery different categories of markers are examined such as genes, proteins, peptides and antibodies. These biomarkers can help determine the subject's transplant category (e.g., acute allograft rejection (AR), stable allograft (STA), BK viremia, BK nephritis, drug toxicity or chronic allograft injury (CAI), and the like). Also provided are compositions, systems, kits and computer program products that find use in practicing the subject methods. The methods and compositions find use in a variety of applications.

  • Publication number: 20130142417
Abstract: A system and method for creating a gesture and generating a classifier that can identify the gesture for use with an application is described. The designer constructs a training set of data containing positive and negative examples of the gesture. Machine learning algorithms are used to compute the optimal classification of the training data into positive and negative instances of the gesture. The machine learning algorithms generate a classifier which, given input data, makes a decision on whether the gesture was performed in the input data or not.

  • Publication number: 20130144842
Abstract: An approach is disclosed for implementing failover and resume when using ordered sequences in a multi-instance database environment. The approach commences by instantiating a first database instance initially to serve as an active instance, then instantiating a second database instance to serve as an instance of one or more passive instances. The active database establishes mastership over a sequence and then processes requests for the ‘next’ symbol by accessing a shared sequence cache only after accessing a first instance semaphore. The active instance and the passive instance perform a protocol such that upon passive database detection of a failure of the active database, one of the passive database instances takes over mastership of the sequence cache, and then proceeds to satisfy sequence value requests. The particular order is observed in spite of the failure.

  • Publication number: 20130142280
Abstract: An arrangement of interleavers allocates bits from an input symbol across sub-symbols transmitted via sub-carriers of multiple orthogonal frequency division multiplex (OFDM) carriers. The input bits are allocated in a fashion to provide separation across subcarriers, and rotation of sub-symbols across the OFDM carriers provides additional robustness in the present of signal path impairments.
