    Abstract: A fin-type field effect transistor comprising a substrate, at least one gate structure, spacers and source and drain regions is described. The substrate has a plurality of fins and a plurality of insulators disposed between the fins. The source and drain regions are disposed on two opposite sides of the at least one gate structure. The gate structure is disposed over the plurality of fins and disposed on the plurality of insulators. The gate structure includes a stacked strip disposed on the substrate and a gate electrode stack disposed on the stacked strip. The spacers are disposed on opposite sidewalls of the gate structure, and the gate electrode stack contacts sidewalls of the opposite spacers.

    Abstract: A smart window includes two transparent substrates and a liquid crystal layer. The two transparent substrates are opposite to each other and are electrically connected to a voltage supply. A first pulse voltage or a second pulse voltage is provided between the two transparent substrates by the voltage supply. The liquid crystal layer is located between the two transparent substrates and has a liquid crystal material. The liquid crystal material has a pitch of at most 250 nanometers or at least 500 nanometers. The liquid crystal material includes a nematic liquid crystal, a rotatory molecule, and a photochromic dye mixed with each other. The liquid crystal material changes a transmittance corresponding to a specific light wavelength range when receiving a light. The liquid crystal material is switched between a planar texture and a focal-conic texture respectively according to the first pulse voltage and the second pulse voltage.

The patterning of the gate stack layer simultaneously forms a passivation layer on sidewall surfaces of the gate stack. The method also includes removing a bottom portion of the passivation layer, thereby exposing a bottom portion of the gate stack, while a top portion of the passivation layer remains. The method further includes laterally etching the bottom portion of the gate stack, thereby shrinking a width of the bottom portion of the gate stack.

The metal sublayer is disposed on the dielectric sublayer, and includes 8.3-16.4 atomic % Ag, 0.5-1.0 atomic % Ti, 81.0-90.9 atomic % N, and 0.3-0.6 atomic % noble metal, and the noble metal is Au, Pd or any combinations thereof. The outer dielectric layer is disposed on the infrared-reflective composite layer, and the material of the outer dielectric layer includes TiO2. In this way, the provided solar control film can effectively suppress of forming white spots without significantly sacrificing its original function and characteristics.

    Abstract: A system and method implement deep learning on a mobile device to provide a convolutional neural network (CNN) for real time processing of video, for example, to color hair. Images are processed using the CNN to define a respective hair matte of hair pixels. The respective object mattes may be used to determine which pixels to adjust when adjusting pixel values such as to change color, lighting, texture, etc. The CNN may comprise a (pre-trained) network for image classification adapted to produce the segmentation mask. The CNN may be trained for image segmentation (e.g. using coarse segmentation data) to minimize a mask-image gradient consistency loss. The CNN may further use skip connections between corresponding layers of an encoder stage and a decoder stage where shallower layers in the encoder, which contain high-res but weak features are combined with low resolution but powerful features from deeper decoder layers.

    Abstract: A compressor structure includes a vane rotor and a cylinder eccentrically disposed around the vane rotor. The vane rotor has a vane impeller. The vane impeller is in tangential contact with the cylinder to define an eccentric crescent vane chamber. A vane is radially slidably received in the vane impeller. An outward extending top end of the vane tightly abuts against the inner circumferential wall of the vane chamber, whereby the vane chamber is partitioned into an intake section and a compression exhaustion section. When the vane rotor rotates, the vane is driven to drive the cylinder to complete gas compression ope rat ion. When rotating, the vane is simply swung at a fixed position of the cylinder, the friction of the compressor can be lowered. The communication of the gas outlet is regulated so that the compression ratio of the compressed gas exhausted from the compressor can be changed.
