In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine a quantity of handoffs that are performed between two or more radio access technologies (RATs) during a time period. The UE may determine whether the quantity of handoffs exceeds a handoff threshold within the time period. The UE may reduce a rate of handoffs when the UE determines that the quantity of handoffs exceeds the handoff threshold within the time period. The UE also may select one of the RATs to camp on and maintain the wireless connection when the UE determines that the quantity of handoffs exceeds the handoff threshold. The UE may determine which RAT to camp on based on handoff count information, handoff total connection time information, or contextual awareness information.

The ionic compound with sulfonate ions is formed by reacting an epoxy resin with an ionic monomer with sulfonate ions or an ionic polymer having sulfonate ions. The ionic monomer and the ionic polymer each has a hydroxyl group or an acid group at the ends. The ionic monomer or the ionic polymer is 40 to 80 parts by weight, and the epoxy resin is 15 to 25 parts by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of the ion exchange resin. An ion exchange resin with a network structure is formed after the ionic compound with sulfonate ions reacts with the crosslinking agent.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses a selenium-doped MXene composite nano-material and a preparation method thereof, comprising the following steps: (1) adding MXene and an organic selenium source into a dispersant, and stirring to prepare a dispersion with a concentration of 1 mg/ml to 100 mg/ml; (2) transferring the dispersion into a reaction kettle, then heating, reacting, and then naturally cooling to a room temperature; (3) washing the product obtained in the step (2) with a cleaning agent, then centrifuging to collect a precipitate, and drying the precipitate under vacuum; and (4) placing the sample obtained in the step (3) into a tubular furnace for calcination, introducing protective gas, heating, and then cooling to a room temperature to obtain the selenium-doped MXene composite nano-material. The material prepared by the present invention has high specific surface area, good electrical conductivity, cycle stability performance, rate performance and high theoretical specific capacity.

Examples include: for a neural network (NN) having a plurality of modules, determining a task objective for at least a final module of the plurality of modules; for the NN, determining a balancing objective using at least an output of the final module and an output of a first intermediate module of the plurality of modules; determining an overall objective, wherein determining the overall objective comprises combining the task objective with the balancing objective; and adjusting weights of the NN to minimize the overall objective. Balancing information may combine mutual information (between an intermediate module output and the output of the final module) with self-information (for the intermediate module output) to produce AMI. Adjusting weights of the NN during training, using the AMI, results in knowledge balancing self-distillation.

    Abstract: The disclosure herein describes preparing and using a cross-attention model for action recognition using pre-trained encoders and novel class fine-tuning. Training video data is transformed into augmented training video segments, which are used to train an appearance encoder and an action encoder. The appearance encoder is trained to encode video segments based on spatial semantics and the action encoder is trained to encode video segments based on spatio-temporal semantics. A set of hard-mined training episodes are generated using the trained encoders. The cross-attention module is then trained for action-appearance aligned classification using the hard-mined training episodes. Then, support video segments are obtained, wherein each support video segment is associated with video classes. The cross-attention module is fine-tuned using the obtained support video segments and the associated video classes.

    Abstract: The invention described herein includes a self-neutralizing amino acid-based cationic composition that contains an amino acid-based cationic ester, a nonionic amphiphile, and an anhydrous buffering agent. In an embodiment, the composition, when dispersed or dissolved in an aqueous solvent, provides a resultant solution/dispersion having a pH of greater than about 4. The amino acid-based cationic ester may be a reaction product of (i) an amino acid having a non-polar side chain, and an amine group that has been neutralized with an acid; with (ii) a long chain fatty alcohol. Also included within the scope of the invention are methods of preparing a self-neutralizing amino acid-based cationic composition, such method including combining an amino acid-based cationic ester, a nonionic amphiphile and an anhydrous buffering agent. The resulting composition is in an anhydrous solid form. Formulations containing the amino acid-based cationic ester and/or a composition that includes it, are also disclosed.
