  • Patent number: 7035330
Abstract: A decision feedback equalizer with dynamic feedback control for use in an adaptive signal equalizer. Timing within the decision feedback loop is dynamically controlled to optimize recovery of the data signal by the output signal slicer. The dynamic timing is controlled by a signal formed as a combination of feedback and feedforward signals. The feedback signal is an error signal related to a difference between pre-slicer and post-slicer signals. The feedforward signal is formed by differentiating and delaying the incoming data signal.

  • Patent number: 7031025
Abstract: A combined dot density and size modulation system uses dispersed dot halftoning in conjunction with dot size modulation to produce a halftone image in which both the density and size of the dots are modulated to control overall gray level. The dot density and size modulation system offers advantages over pure dot density modulation systems or pure dot size modulation systems because it allows an extra degree of flexibility which can be used to increase the visual quality of the halftoned pattern and/or increase the robustness of the halftoning to printer artifacts and variations. An input pixel value is used to independently produce a dot density value and a dot size value. The dot density value and dot size values may be obtained from, e.g., look up tables that have been optimized for print quality and printer stability. Dispersed dot halftoning is used to provide a halftone value for the desired pixel location using the dot density value. The dispersed dot halftoning may be, e.g.

  • Patent number: 7029505
Abstract: The single substrate thermal processing apparatus (2) includes a process chamber (5) arranged to accommodate a target substrate (W) and provided with a showerhead (10) disposed on its ceiling. A support member (28) is disposed to support the target substrate (W) so as for it to face the showerhead (10), when the target substrate (W) is subjected to a semiconductor process. A heating lamp (30) is disposed below the support member (28), for radiating light to heat the target substrate (W). The support member (28) and heating lamp (30) are moved up and down together relative to the showerhead (10) by an elevator mechanism (20). The elevator mechanism (20) sets different distances between the showerhead (30) and heating lamp (10), in accordance with the different process temperatures, thereby causing temperature change of the bottom surface of the showerhead (10) to fall in a predetermined range.

  • Patent number: 7029814
Abstract: The invention provides liquid toner compositions in which the polymeric binder is chemically grown in the form of copolymeric binder particles dispersed in a liquid carrier. The polymeric binder includes one amphipathic copolymer comprising one or more S material portions and one or more D material portions, wherein the components of the composition comprise sufficient crosslinking functionality to provide a three dimensional gel of controlled rigidity which can be reversibly reduced to a fluid state by application of energy. The toners as described herein surprisingly provide compositions that are particularly suitable for electrophotographic processes wherein the transfer of the image from the surface of a photoconductor to an intermediate transfer material or directly to a print medium is carried out without film formation on the photoconductor.

  • Publication number: 20060072628
Abstract: Emulating a packet reorder condition in a network includes maintaining a counter variable to count packets sent out since the most recent reordered packet. When a new packet arrives, if the counter variable is less than or equal to zero, a current packet lag value is determined. If the current packet lag value is not equal to zero, the new packet is delayed before being sent out in accordance with the lag value, and the counter is updated with the lag value. Otherwise, the new packet is sent out without delay and the counter is decreased by one. The current packet lag value is computed based on supplied configuration parameters. Delaying the new packet includes applying a latency to the packet, the latency comprising a time cost to transmit the packet multiplied by the current packet lag value.

  • Publication number: 20060069709
Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system are provided for k-means clustering using t-test computation. According to one embodiment, k-means clustering is performed on a dataset. In performing k-means clustering, the dataset having various points is partitioned into several clusters. The closeness of a given point to a given cluster is determined. Then, t-test computation is performed to determine statistical linear relationship between the point and the cluster. If the point is found to be close to the cluster and a statistical linear relationship is found between the point and the cluster, the current position of the point is maintained.
