  • Patent number: 6154783
Abstract: A method of addressing an electric document for transmission over a network includes the step of accessing a knowledge profile, including knowledge terms indicative of a knowledge base of a potential recipient of the electronic document. Based on a predetermined degree of correspondence or correlation between document terms within the electronic document and knowledge terms within the knowledge profile, a decision is made as to whether a potential recipient is identified as a proposed recipient. Following the identification of the proposed recipient, a sender, or author, of the electronic document is prompted to either accept or decline the proposed recipient as actual recipient of the electronic document.

  • Patent number: 6143474
Abstract: This method forms structures with different resistance values from a single polysilicon film formed on a substrate. Form a hard masking layer on the polysilicon film. Form a photoresist mask over the hard masking layer. Partially etch the hard masking layer through the photoresist mask to reduce the thickness of the polysilicon while leaving the remainder of the hard masking layer with the original thickness. The thickness is reduced in locations where a low resistance is to be located in the polysilicon film. Then dope the polysilicon layer through the hard masking layer with variable doping as a function of the reduced thickness and the original thickness of the hard masking layer.

  • Patent number: 6115709
Abstract: A method of constructing a user knowledge profile, having distinct public and private portions with different access restrictions, requires assigning a confidence level to content within an electronic document. The electronic document is associated with a user, such as for example the author of the document. The content may be potentially indicative of a knowledge base of the user. The content is then stored in either the public or private portion of the user knowledge profile dependent upon whether the confidence level exceeds, or falls below, a predetermined threshold level. The public portion of the user knowledge profile is freely accessible by third parties, whereas the private portion has restricted access.

  • Patent number: 5839128
Abstract: An antiseptic solution dispenser installed in the tank of a toilet to dispense an antiseptic solution, including a container to hold an antiseptic solution, the container having a clip for fastening to the overflow tube of the tank of the toilet, and a storage float coupled to the bottom coupling neck of the container after the removal of a tear tape on the outside flange of the half-round barrel of the storage float. As the tank of the toilet is filled up with water, the half-round barrel is moved upwards by the rising water, causing the antiseptic solution to flow out of dispensing holes on the half-round barrel, and as water is drawn away from the tank of the toilet, the half-round barrel is lowered and a metered amount of the antiseptic solution is transferred out of the container into the half-round barrel of the storage float.

  • Patent number: 5746791
Abstract: A moisture and contaminant separator for compressed air includes: an outer cylinder having an upper mist accumulator and a lower water collector; and an inner cylinder secured in a central portion of the outer cylinder having an impinging condenser formed in the inner cylinder provided with a plurality of leftward and rightward oriented air passages in the impinging condenser to allow the crossing impact, impinging, mixing, settling and condensation of water mist or contaminant particles laden in the compressed air stream into the separator to be dropped and collected in the lower water collector of the outer cylinder; upon the primary removal of water and contaminants from the compressed air stream, the mist still carried on the air stream will be accumulated on the inside wall of the upper mist accumulator and then drained into the lower collector for further removal of the mist and contaminants laden in the air; and the demisted dry air will be delivered outwardly through an upper port.

  • Patent number: 5700740
Abstract: A method is described for the prevention of the corrosion of interconnection wirings made of aluminum or aluminum-copper alloys in semiconductor integrated circuits. The invention uses a weak solution of NH.sub.4 OH to remove chlorine-containing residues that adhere to the sidewalls of the metal wirings patterned by reactive ion etching using chlorine-containing gaseous components, thus effectively quenching the chain reaction of aluminum electrochemical corrosion involving these chlorine-containing residues as an intermediary.

  • Patent number: 5385556
Abstract: An endcap for a hypodermic syringe is disclosed. The endcap is comprised of a sheath and a base section. The sheath, having a proximal and distal end, is hollow and resiliently deformable and has a slit extending substantially the length of the sheath. The proximal end of the sheath is open. The base section is attached to and extends radially outwardly from the periphery of the sheath's proximal end. The base section is disposed opposite of the slit and includes two spaced apart outwardly extending leg supports.

  • Patent number: 5353640
Abstract: An air-jet driven dynamic balance test apparatus for testing the dynamic balance of minrotors with minimum interference from external vibration noise. The dynamic balance test apparatus comprise a resilient supporting steel sheet having a horizontal bottom portion fastened to a base and an elongated upright body portion extended upwardly from the horizontal bottom portion to carry the sample to be tested. An air-jet generating device is provided to produce a continuous stream of compressed air for rotating the sample about its central axis. The resilient supporting steel sheet contains a resilient section for increasing sensitivity of said test apparatus. The resilient supporting steel sheet contains a resilient section, which can be the resilient steel sheet itself or in the form of a row of through holes or a corrugated section. A detector is mounted on the resilient supporting steel sheet to detect the vibration as the sample is being rotated during testing.

  • Patent number: 4823328
Abstract: A radio signal controlled clock which decodes time information in a radio signal and thereby determines the current time. The clock collects and stores radio signal data as soon as a reasonably decodeable radio signal is located, even before the minute boundary of the radio signal's time base has been located. This data is stored and later used for decoding and verifying the digits of the time information after the minute boundary has been located. In another aspect of the present invention, an internal counter in the clock is periodically resynchronized with the radio signal, and the average of the adjustments required for this resynchronization is maintained.

  • Patent number: 3937046
Abstract: The lock comprises a lock casing in which there is slidably mounted a lock plate movable between a projected locking position and a retracted unlocking position by a manually actuable operating member projecting from the front face of the casing. A plurality of push button assemblies are mounted in the casing, and each assembly includes a push button, an interlock block and a code changer, the push buttons projecting from the front of the casing and the code changers being accessible at the rear of the casing. By operating the push buttons to selected positions in accordance with the "combination", the interlock blocks are positioned to release the lock plate for operation by the actuating member. The code changers are operable to angularly adjust the interlock blocks to set the desired "combination".
