  • Patent number: 6624466
Abstract: A method is disclosed to form a reliable silicon nitride spacer between the lower edges of the floating gate and the control gate of a split-gate flash memory cell. This is accomplished by forming a floating gate with vertical sidewalls, forming a high temperature oxide layer followed by silicon nitride layer over the floating gate including the vertical sidewalls, ion implanting the nitride layer and then selectively etching it to form a robust silicon nitride spacer of well defined rectangular shape.

  • Patent number: 6621139
Abstract: A method for fabricating a tunable, 3-dimensional solenoid utilizing CMOS fabrication technology and a back end process without using photomasks are described. In the method, two curved arms each formed of a bi-layered metal structure from metals that have different coefficients of thermal expansion for residual stress are utilized for connecting to two ends of an inductor coil formed of AlCu between the two arms. When the insulating layer of silicon dioxide is removed from the curved arms, the free ends of the arms curve up and thus, raise the inductor coil away from the surface of the semiconductor substrate into a 3-dimensional structure. When electrical voltage is applied between lower electrodes formed on the substrate and the curved arms, electrostatic force is generated to further control the length of the inductor coil by pulling down or raising the curved arms.

  • Patent number: 6540341
Abstract: The ink cartridge is provided with a pressure controller to regulate the inner pressure therein by atmospheric pressure while the ink stored in the ink cartridge is gradually drained off. The ink is stored in a container with negative pressure therein, and at least one through hole formed on the container is used to connect to the atmosphere, and at least one recess is formed on the inner wall of the through hole. The pressure controller has a plug movably disposed on the through hole and the recesses. The recesses are used as a channel to allow the entrance of the atmospheric air, and the plug can be automatically moved so as to enlarge the clearance between the plug and the through hole while the ink stored in the ink cartridge is gradually drained off. The inputted air can effectively reduce the negative pressure in the container, and therefore the printing process of the ink cartridge can be proceeding steadily.

  • Publication number: 20030020763
Abstract: A process of configuring a media facility is provided. A source icon representing at least one media source is generated. Then, characteristics of the media source is encrypted in the source icon including settings and recalls for all devices in the signal path. Further, a media space representing an output device is generated. Then, characteristics of the output device is encrypted in the media space. The source icon and the media space are presented, for example, on a display system, to a user for selection. The user may select the source icon and apply it to the media space including settings and recalls for all devices in the signal path, for example, through dragging and dropping. Once the media source, the output device and/or other devices in the signal path between them have been configured, the user may store the configuration for a later recall.
