  • Publication number: 20160092414
Abstract: In various aspects, systems and methods provide a standardized approach to contextual code identification in editors and integrated development environments (IDEs). Thus, a given cursor position inside a language file like cascading style sheets (CSS), JavaScript, or java can be represented by storing language type and hierarchy information at the current position in a mime type or mime type-like syntax. Different editor assist handler modules can then be chained to process the syntax to provide a particular feature or insight. Features or products can evolve incrementally by adding a new handler module that processes the same syntax. In one aspect, the actual handler modules used can be determined depend on the cursor context.

  • Patent number: 9252791
Abstract: A phase locked loop (PLL) system generates an oscillator signal by providing a fixed control voltage to a programmable voltage to current converter having switch selection inputs and a variable current output. Logic values are provided to the switch selection inputs to adjust a control current at the variable current output and a frequency of the oscillator signal is adjusted based on the control current. The logic values are fixed when a first condition is reached, which is based on the frequency of the oscillator signal, a division factor, and an input reference signal frequency. The fixed control voltage provided to the programmable voltage to current converter is then replaced with a charge pump control voltage based on an error signal. The error signal is based on a comparison of the input reference signal frequency and a fraction of the oscillating frequency.

  • Patent number: 9209747
Abstract: An oscillator includes an amplifier and a piezoelectric crystal coupled across a portion of the amplifier. A low pass filter (LPF) passes the common-mode voltage component of the crystal output signal. An auxiliary bias circuit uses a shared LPF component to charge a crystal load capacitor during start-up of the oscillator, and to provide a DC bias operating point to the oscillator driver transistor. A buffer amplifier receives the common-mode voltage component on the non-inverting input. The buffer amplifier output is coupled to both the inverting input and the drain terminal of the oscillator driver transistor such that the gate and drain DC bias voltages of the oscillator driver transistor are substantially the same. An automatic loop control circuit receives the crystal output signal and the common-mode voltage signal, and generates a bias control signal to bias the amplifier and the auxiliary bias circuit.

  • Patent number: 9170282
Abstract: An integrated circuit has voltage generating circuitry for generating an on-chip voltage from a supply voltage in response to clock pulses. Clock control circuitry controls transmission of the clock pulses to the voltage generating circuitry. The clock control circuitry receives a reference voltage and a digital offset value comprising a binary numeric value identifying an offset. The clock control circuitry suppresses transmission of the clock pulses if the on-chip voltage is greater than the sum of the reference voltage and the offset identified by the digital offset value, to reduce power consumption. The offset can be tuned digitally to vary the average level of the on-chip voltage. A similar digital tuning mechanism may be used in a clocked comparator to compare a first voltage with a digitally tunable threshold voltage.

  • Publication number: 20150270836
Abstract: A conversion circuit measures individual period lengths for periods of a clock signal. Two of the measured period lengths are selected and compared. The comparison operates to compare a first period length against a threshold set as a function of the second period length. The result of the comparison is indicative of the presence of a clock error. If the threshold is set less than the second period length, the comparison functions to detect a clock glitch. If the threshold is set more than the second period, the comparison functions to detect a loss of clock. The result of the comparison may be used to control further handling of the clock signal by, for example, blocking logic state changes in the clock signal for the length of one period in response to the detection of the clock error.
