  • Patent number: 7440832
Abstract: Method and arrangement for controlling actual torque in a driveline of a land-based motor vehicle. Taking a direct, non-predictive measure of actual torque induced in the driveline of the motor vehicle and ascertaining a magnitude thereof. Ascertaining a magnitude of a torque demand being requested to be instituted in the driveline. Comparing the ascertained magnitude of the direct, non-predictive measure of actual torque taken is compared with a driveline-configuration dependent maximum torque threshold; in this way, an over-threshold torque condition is ascertained in the driveline based thereupon if such a condition exists. In multi-geared transmissions, the variability can be accounted for through the engagement of different ratio gears. In the event that such an over-threshold torque condition is detected, at least one of several possible over-threshold torque compensating effects will be applied to reduce or diminish the excessive portion of the torque.

  • Patent number: 7440429
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system, a Midcom Agent, a method for re-establishing context and a computer program product for performing the steps of said method. In a multi-domain, multi-access IP network there is a need for a method to re-establish context associated with a flow when the end-to-end path changes. The path change is typically due to mobility, but can also be caused by access re-selection (which can be performed for a stationary mobile node as well). Therefore, a method is provided in which the context is moved from one middlebox to at least one selected middlebox via a Midcom Agent. An advantage with the present invention is that it facilitates the transfer of context information from a set of middleboxes to another set of middleboxes. Each set may contain diverse types of such middleboxes.

  • Publication number: 20080248920
Abstract: A method for operating a semi-automatic or automatic manual transmission of a heavy truck when driving at idle speed. The method includes supplying fuel to the engine of the heavy truck at a rate that facilitates engine-idle operation. In another step, the method engages the automatic or semi-automatic transmission in a gear higher than the starting gear of the transmission and permits the truck to operate at a first substantially uniform driving velocity under engine-idle power. Depending upon traffic and environmental requirements which require a slower or higher speed, the driver downshifts or upshifts the semi-automatic or automatic transmission by depressing a control pedal of the truck and then drives the truck at a second substantially uniform driving velocity under engine-idle power. For a downshift, the second substantially uniform driving velocity is less than the first substantially uniform driving velocity.

  • Patent number: 7357753
Abstract: Method for regulating the rotational speed of a clutch-independent power take-off. The power take-off is driven by an engine arranged in a vehicle. The engine is connected to an automatic stagegeared transmission by way of an automated vehicle clutch. At least one control unit is provided for controlling the transmission, the vehicle clutch and the engine. The control unit controls the rotational speed of the engine as a function of the position of the throttle lever and controls the transmission as a function of the position of a gear selector. The rotational speed of the engine is regulated by way of a control and the degree of engagement of the vehicle clutch is regulated by way of the throttle lever when the power take-off is engaged and a drive position is selected by way of the gear selector. The rotational speed of the engine is automatically reduced when equipment engaged to the power take-off approaches a limit position.
