  • Patent number: 8765359
Abstract: Methods of preparing organosilane-functionalized regions on a substrate surface and more specifically fabricating patterned functionalized substrates suitable to be optically read, the methods generally comprising employing a vapor deposition process of an organosilane gas onto a lithographically patterned silicon surface followed by removal of the patterning media in a bath of organic solvents and ultrasonic excitation. The inventive methods provide optimized surface density of functional species while avoiding deleterious effects that can occur when lithographically patterned substrates are exposed to various gaseous species during the functionalization process.

  • Patent number: 8709534
Abstract: A formwork release composition containing formwork release oil, which contains a hydrophobic metal oxide and/or metal sulphide component is disclosed. Photocatalytically active compounds, such as particular semiconductors and in particular TiO2, are particularly suitable. The invention also concerns the use of the formwork release composition for producing exposed concrete. The concrete and mortar products thus produced are characterized by a homogeneous surface with self-cleaning properties that gives an enhanced resistance against weathering and a much longer lasting brilliance and whiteness.

  • Publication number: 20100198461
Abstract: A method for controlling an electric assist motor for providing steering assist in response to a sensed torque signal includes the step of filtering the sensed torque signal to provide a low frequency torque signal and a high frequency torque signal. A low frequency assist torque signal is determined as a function of the low frequency torque signal. A high frequency assist gain signal is determined as a function of the sensed torque signal and a sensed vehicle speed. The high frequency assist gain signal is applied to the high frequency torque signal to determine a high frequency assist torque signal. A torque command signal is determined as a function of the low frequency assist torque signal and the high frequency assist torque signal. The electric assist motor is commanded to provide steering assist in accordance with the torque command signal.
