  • Publication number: 20100190497
Abstract: A method of controlling an attach procedure of a device 1 to a telecommunications network 140 following receipt of an attach rejection from the telecommunications network, the method including assessing the authenticity of the attach rejection, and selecting a criterion for performing a subsequent attach attempt by the device to the network in dependence upon the authenticity assessment. The authenticity may be assessed by determining whether the rejection was received by an authenticated communication link or a signed message. The authenticity may also be assessed by checking that the cause of the reject is consistent with information held by the device. The selected criterion may be power cycling of the device or the passage of a time period.

  • Publication number: 20100037523
Abstract: An adjustment device and a corresponding method for a movable body part of a vehicle, has an actuator for adjusting the movable body part and has a control device for activating the actuator in an operating state. The control device switches from the operating state to an idle state if no adjustment of the movable body part occurs within a defined period of time. A manual adjustment of the movable body part switches the control device back to the operating state from the idle state.

  • Publication number: 20100029332
Abstract: An antenna system has multiple antenna elements, and multiple connection points allowing multiple users to connect to the antenna system. Each connection point is connected to each of the antenna elements through respective amplitude control circuitry, with the beam shape for each user being controlled by the amplitude control circuitry in the paths between that user's connection point and the antenna elements. The beam shapes for the different users are then independently controllable.

  • Publication number: 20060286959
Abstract: An RF module adapted for direct surface mounting to the top surface of the front end of the motherboard of a picocell. The module comprises a printed circuit board having a plurality of direct surface mounted electrical components defining respective signal transmit and receive sections for RF signals. The signal transmit section is defined by at least a transmit bandpass filter, a power amplifier, an isolator, a coupler, and a duplexer. The signal receive section is defined by at least the duplexer, a receive low pass filter, a low-noise amplifier, and a receive bandpass filter. A lid covers selected ones of the electrical components except for at least the power amplifier. A plurality of through-holes defined in the printed circuit board below the amplifier allow for the dissipation of heat created by the amplifier. At least one aperture in the board is adapted to accept a screw or the like for securing the module to the motherboard of the picocell.

  • Publication number: 20060232474
Abstract: An antenna system includes a dielectric resonator, provided with first and second electrical signal inputs. An electrical signal is fed through the first electrical signal input, and through the second electrical signal input with a significant phase difference, for example in the region of 180°. This has the advantage that the antenna bandwidth is increased, allowing the antenna system to be used in wideband applications.

  • Publication number: 20060200198
Abstract: The present invention is directed to tissue closure devices for closing a tissue opening, including one or more closure components, each closure component having a first member and a second member, each of the first and second members having a first surface that adheres to a tissue surface proximate to the tissue opening, each of the first and second members having a second surface substantially orthogonal to the first surface, and each of the first and second members having a transitional region between the first surface and the second surface which is contoured to evert an edge of the tissue opening upon the drawing together of the first and second members. The present invention is also directed to systems and kits, dressing systems, and methods for tissue repair and closure.

  • Publication number: 20050040849
Abstract: A Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) core cell with one or more Look-Up Tables (LUTs) and a selectable logic gate is presented as a space-efficient alternative to the conventional LUT-based FPGA core cell. An algorithm based upon the familiar FlowMap algorithm for LUT-based FPGA core cells implements the mapping of a Boolean logic network into the disclosed FPGA core cell.

  • Publication number: 20020077823
Abstract: A software development method and apparatus is provided for the simultaneous creation of software applications that operate on a variety of client devices and include text-to-speech and speech recognition capabilities. A software development system and related method use a graphical user interface that provides a software developer with an intuitive drag and drop technique for building software applications. Program elements, accessible with the drag and drop technique, include corresponding markup code that is adapted to operate on the plurality of different client devices. The software developer can generate a natural language grammar by providing typical or example spoken responses. The grammar is automatically enhanced to increase the number of recognizable words or phrases. The example responses provided by the software developer are further used to automatically build application-specific help.
