  • Publication number: 20150260325
Abstract: A coupling assembly includes: a first coupling device including: an insert configured to be coupled to a source or a destination of a fluid; a seal coupled to the insert to create a seal with a mating seal; and a sleeve coupled to the insert, the sleeve including a locking structure; and a second coupling device that is substantially identical to the first coupling device. The first coupling device is coupled to the second coupling device by rotating the second coupling device relative to the first coupling device and moving the second coupling device axially towards the first coupling device to allow the locking structure on the first coupling device to engage the locking structure on the second coupling device and seals of the first and second coupling devices to form an axial seal so that fluid can flow from the line and through the first and second coupling devices.

  • Publication number: 20150227412
Abstract: Business transactions and the nodes processing the transactions may be monitored. Actions may be applied to one or more nodes when a performance issue is detected. A performance issue may relate to a metric associated with a transaction or node that processes the transaction. If a performance metric does not satisfy a health rule, the policy determines which action should be performed to correct the performance of the node. The corrective action may be applied to a node other than the node at which the performance metric is associated with. For example, if a performance metric for a first node does not satisfy a threshold, the corrective action may be applied to a second node. When a solution applied to a second node is found to correct the problem in first node, the solution may be applied to the other nodes experiencing the same problem.

  • Publication number: 20150118014
Abstract: The systems, methods, and computer-readable media set a gas turbine firing temperature to maintain gas turbine metal surface temperatures. In certain embodiments, a method of setting a gas turbine firing temperature is disclosed that may comprise determining a critical temperature at which ash from ash bearing fuels becomes unremovable by conventional water wash procedures, determining hot gas path component metal surface temperatures, and adjusting the gas turbine firing temperature to maintain the metal surface temperatures below the critical temperature. Determining the metal surface temperatures may be based at least in part on measured gas turbine parameters, gas turbine performance models, and empirical models.

  • Patent number: 8539770
Abstract: An internal combustion engine including an exhaust arrangement comprises a first exhaust duct and a second exhaust duct. A valve arrangement preferably comprising separate first and second exhaust valves associated with each cylinder, to selectively direct exhaust from engine to the first exhaust duct during a first exhaust period, and to the second exhaust duct during a subsequent second exhaust period. A turbine having an inlet is connected to the first exhaust duct; and a compressor drivingly connected to and driven by the turbine, has an inlet connected to second duct. The compressor, driven by the turbine extracting energy from the exhaust, reduces the back pressure in the exhaust system reducing pumping losses, with the second duct bypassing the turbine in the second exhaust period such that the turbine also does not increase the exhaust back pressure at least during the main second exhaust phase.

  • Publication number: 20130047572
Abstract: A method is disclosed for attaching a ferrule to a dragline rope. The method comprises locating the dragline rope in a die of a die-press, locating over the dragline rope a ferrule that is lined internally with a deformable material, and forcing the ferrule longitudinally through the die. The ferrule is caused to be internally expanded and be extruded back over the dragline rope, causing the lining to deform directly against the dragline rope and fastening the ferrule to the dragline rope.

  • Patent number: 8335930
Abstract: An architecture, system and method for operating on encrypted and/or hidden information (e.g., code and/or data). The invention enables creators, owners and/or distributors of proprietary code to keep such code inaccessible to users and user-controlled software programs. A memory architecture includes first and second protected memory spaces, respectively storing operating system instructions and a decrypted version of the encrypted information. The first protected memory space may further store a table linking the locations of the encrypted and/or hidden, decrypted information with a decryption and/or authorization key. The system includes the memory architecture and a processor for executing instructions, and the method loads, stores and operates on the encrypted and/or hidden information according to the memory architecture functionality and/or constraints.
