  • Publication number: 20240161448
Abstract: A system and method for performing object recognition using chords is disclosed, A chord is a feature representing the distance between edge pixels and/or the angle of a line segment connected to edge pixels. The object recognition system preferably includes: an edge detector, a plurality of transforms, a chord generator, and a summing circuit. The edge detector is configured to detect a plurality of edge pixels in the acquired image and reference image. Each transform is associated with a scale which is the ratio of an input chord length and an output chord length for associated with the transform. The chord generator is configured to generate a first plurality of chords representing a point in the acquired image, and a second plurality of chords representing a point in the reference image.

  • Publication number: 20240134959
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a system and a method of providing access to at least one password protected device (D1-D5) via a password management system (100). The password management system (100) comprises first and second password management servers (200), each comprising a memory for storing an active password and a reserve password. The first and second password management servers (200) communicate the active and reserve passwords via a communication link (220). Either one of the first and second password management servers (200) requests access to the password protected device using the active password stored in the memory, and if the active password does not provide access, requests access using the reserve password.

  • Publication number: 20230267360
Abstract: Quantum processing devices and methods for shuttling qubits between a pair of processing elements are disclosed. In particular, a disclosed method for shuttling a qubit from a first processing element to a second processing element in a quantum processing device comprising a plurality of processing elements, includes: applying an optimal bias configuration between the first processing element and the second processing element to shuttle the qubit from the first processing element to the second processing element in a manner that minimizes the time spent by the qubit in one or more state transition points between the first processing element and the second processing element.

  • Patent number: 11649621
Abstract: The present invention relates to plumbing fixtures, and more particularly to drain stopper assemblies used to control the flow of fluid through a drain opening of a sink or bathtub. More specifically, the present invention is a novel drain stopper device that can be attached or removed from a drain without the use of tools and without requiring a user to access the space underneath the drain. The device is preferably comprised of a drain stopper head portion having a repositionable push button in mechanical communication with a spring, a shaft and a pair of repositionable jaws such that the pair of jaws are repositioned to grip or release a pivot rod when the push button is repositioned between a first and a second position.

  • Patent number: 11612233
Abstract: A portable hydration device for use with a portable hydration system is described. The portable hydration device comprises a housing having an inlet, configured to be in fluid communication with a reservoir of water, and an outlet configured to be in fluid communication with a mouthpiece; the housing defining a throughbore connecting the inlet and the outlet. The device also includes a receptacle configured to contain an additive and a selector. The selector is movable between an engaged position in which the selector is engaged with the receptacle and a disengaged position in which the selector is disengaged from the receptacle. In the engaged position the selector permits fluid communication between the receptacle and the throughbore and in the disengaged position the selector prevents fluid communication between the receptacle and the throughbore. The selector defines a throughbore, the selector throughbore being aligned with the housing throughbore in the engaged and the disengaged positions.
