  • Publication number: 20230351030
Abstract: Under Backend Application Session Management (“BASM”), a DBMS not only creates an application session but also the respective adjunct security context to which to attach the adjunct security context. The middle tier does not need to create the application session or its adjunct security context. Instead, the middle tier sends an end-user token that the middle tier piggybacks to database requests that are sent through database connections. The end-user token identifies an end user and has been authenticated by the middle tier. The generation of the end-user token is concomitant to the process of the middle tier authenticating the end user. The DBMS invokes a user-defined function to generate an adjunct security context. The user-defined function generates the adjunct security context based on the end-user token. Application developers can customize the user-defined function to customize backend security for their needs.

  • Patent number: 10911911
Abstract: A control device to provide control of electrical devices based on timing information. The control device stores device operational information which indicates an association between timing information and a plurality of operational modes for each of a set of electrical devices associated with a physical space. The control device detects a presence of a user within the physical space. The user is associated with an electronic apparatus. The control device further compares other timing information captured at a time of the detection of the presence of the user with the timing information. The control device determines an operational mode from the plurality of operational modes for each of the set of electrical devices based on the comparison. The control device further controls each of the set of electrical devices based on the determined operational mode.

  • Patent number: 10878448
Abstract: The invention uses a PID controller engine to provide a desired distribution of targeted ad placements, including controlling campaign pace in realtime to precisely spend a campaign budget over a prescribed runtime, while producing optimum results in a cost efficient manner based on desired targeting parameters. Those parameters include one or more probabilities that a viewer associated with an ad impression opportunity: belongs to one or more targeted demographic categories; will convert with respect to a product or service being offered; has an intention to buy the product or service; or exhibits one or more defined behaviors. Probabilities are determined by a truth-based machine-learning modelling engine. Upon receiving an ad slot opportunity package, a DSP makes a bid decision and determines a bid price, and then sends a bid response to the supply-side partner, all within 200 mS of receiving the ad slot opportunity or the bid will be ignored.

  • Patent number: 10685155
Abstract: A computer-implemented method designs a distributed heterogeneous computing and control system, including both an application and a hardware context and configuring the application in the hardware context. The method is implemented by design software instructions executing in a computer node, associated with an interactive display, to establish an interactive environment utilizing computer processes. The computer processes provide access in the interactive environment to a set of functional modules and a set of primitive modules. The computer processes receive the interactive environment a selection of desired ones of the functional modules and the primitive modules and order them in a manner to characterize the distributed computing and control system as a schematic of a set of devices. The computer processes parse the schematic to produce a set of sub-schematics that each correspond to a distinct device in a set of devices in the distributed computing and control system.
