  • Patent number: 9503203
Abstract: Interference cancellation circuitry is provided for reconstructing a wirelessly transmitted modulated signal in a receiver using output of a decoder for calculating per-bit probabilities corresponding to bit-by-bit estimates of a coded message from which one bit hard decisions and multi-bit soft decision can be derived. A soft modulator reconstructs the transmitted modulated signal by calculating a weighted superposition depending upon the hard decisions and at least one combined value computed by combining two or more of the multi-bit soft decisions corresponding to different bits of the coded message. A soft modulation method using combined value(s) in a weighted superposition of hard decisions and computer program code for calculating the combined values and regenerated modulated signal are also provided. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 9462568
Abstract: Many indoor location services do not require precise knowledge of the position of a mobile device, but simply whether a mobile device is within a particular zone of an indoor area. Existing signals in an indoor space may provide enough information to distinguish between different zones of an indoor area, allowing a server to provide indoor location services without requiring the installation of new signal sources in the indoor area.

  • Patent number: 9342431
Abstract: A technique to generically manage extensible correlation data is provided for correlating a series of events. The technique employs a global unique identifier (GUID) for identifying an event and uses the GUID as a key to associate one or more extensible correlators of correlation data. A transport correlator may be configured to transport the GUID for associating with a GUID of a second event such that a small and fixed amount of data is passed by the communications layer providing the transport, minimally impacting communications. An arbitrary amount of data may be logged and keyed with the GUID, providing optimization and flexibility.

  • Patent number: 9251301
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention include methods for semi-automatic quantity takeoff from computer aided design (CAD) drawings. For each drawing object a corresponding takeoff object is created. A takeoff object may include the dimension of geometry (e.g., numerical, lineal, area) to quantify, the object parameter to be quantified for all instances of the object, and the takeoff calculations to be performed. After a takeoff object is defined, the corresponding instances are automatically identified and quantified. The cost of each instance is then calculated and added to the project cost. Using automated methods, instead of manual techniques, reduces errors and increases the accuracy of the generated cost estimate. Advantageously, the takeoff objects may be saved in the system database and reused for different projects, thereby ensuring consistency between projects.
