    Abstract: A rail and tube arrangement includes a rail, one or more tubes spaced apart from the rail, and one or more tube supports configured to support the one or more tubes at the rail. Each tube support includes a head portion wrapped at least partially around the rail, two opposing leg portions extending from the head portion and a support portion extending from each leg portion of the two opposing leg portions, the one or more tubes disposed between the support portions. One or more fasteners extend through the two opposing leg portions applying a clamping force to the two opposing leg portions thereby securing the tube support to the rail, and retaining the one or more tubes between the support portions.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for scale testing infrastructure as a service systems are disclosed. A processing device generates a container image including a plurality of processes for providing compute functions and modifying a fake virtual driver with network switch functionality. The plurality of processes includes a compute process to create fake virtual machines using the modified fake virtual driver. The processing device generates a plurality of simulated compute nodes using the container image and generates a plurality of fake virtual machines using the modified fake virtual driver on one or more simulated compute nodes, scheduled as pods using a container orchestration engine. In this way, network and messaging traffic on the control plane is effectively simulated at scale. The modified fake driver enables network switch functionality so that network configuration for each fake virtual machine may be simulated, thereby mimicking the network actions of a virtual machine on a compute node.

    Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to field agnostic source localization. Conventional state-of-the-art methods perform source localization for near-field scenario by estimating carrier frequency and direction of arrival (DOA) at or above Nyquist sampling rate. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method for source localization at sub Nyquist sampling rate. The method estimates parameters such as range, carrier frequency and DOA of source signals from data sources in a mixed field scenario. i.e., the data sources may reside in far-field as well as near-field. The method considers a delay channel to a sensor receiver architecture for estimating the parameters. The disclosed method can be used in applications like cognitive radio to determine the carrier frequency, DOA and range of various source signals from data sources in mixed field.

The method may include: receiving an ILS localizer signal and traffic information; monitoring a signal-quality of the received ILS signal; annunciating on a display system onboard the aircraft an impending ILS auto-pilot disconnect alert when the signal-quality is determined to have decreased by more than a threshold; associating the ILS signal with stored ILS antenna information to thereby construct a three-dimensional ILS envelope with a point of origination at a location of an ILS localizer; presenting a map showing the aircraft at a current location, and the runway; and, using the traffic information to monitor a location and movement of an intruder traffic and predict an infringement of the intruder traffic on the ILS envelope. Responsive to the predicted infringement, the method may annunciate an ILS alert and transmit a notification to air traffic control or the intruder traffic.

    Abstract: Vertically-aligned and conductive dummies in integrated circuit (IC) layers reduce capacitance and bias independence. Dummies are islands of material in areas of metal and semiconductor IC layers without circuit features to avoid non-uniform polishing (“dishing”). Conductive diffusion layer dummies in a diffusion layer and conductive polysilicon dummies in a polysilicon layer above the diffusion layer reduce bias dependence and nonlinear circuit operation in the presence of an applied varying voltage. ICs with metal dummies vertically aligned in at least one metal layer above the polysilicon dummies and diffusion dummies reduce lateral coupling capacitance compared to ICs in which dummies are dispersed in a non-overlapping layout by a foundry layout tool. Avoiding lateral resistance-capacitance (RC) ladder networks created by dispersed dummies improves signal delays and power consumption in radio-frequency (RF) ICs.
