Abstract: A method and system for remotely configuring a desktop mailbox manager. A mobile node operable to communicate within a wireless network includes a remote desktop controller to generate configuration messages for transmission to a home node at which the desktop mailbox manager is located. When reconfiguration is required, reconfiguration criteria are formulated, usually at the direction of the user. The reconfiguration criteria are then used by the remote desktop controller to create a reconfiguration message, which is addressed for delivery to the home node. A network connection is established, and the reconfiguration message is transmitted. A network server associated with the base station through which the mobile node is communicating with the network routes the message to a server associated with the home node, utilizing an appropriate gateway if necessary. The message is stored on the server until the home node establishes communication and then the message is downloaded to the home node.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for phase aligning two optical signals within an optical transmitter to each other (and, in some embodiments, to a pulse carved optical signal) using integrated complimentary taps and a dither signal. The phase of a first signal may be intentionally offset relative to the phase of a second signal. Based on the offset, a correction factor may be calculated. The correction factor may be used to shift the phase of the first signal and/or the second signal in order to generally align the signals. This procedure may be automatically performed in a feedback loop to cause the signals to come into alignment and maintain the alignment of the signals during operation of the transmitter.

Abstract: Techniques in a mobile device for use in grouping user-specific information items in an electronic mail (e-mail) message are disclosed. The mobile device displays a draft e-mail message for a user. In response to detecting a trigger signal, the mobile device adds user-specific information items to the e-mail message by inserting a user information file in the e-mail message. The mobile device produces the user information file by reading a first user-specific information item associated with a first application, where the first user-specific information item is for identifying or contacting the user via the first application, and storing the first user-specific information item in the user information file.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed for providing content to a user. The method includes using sensor data from multiple sensors associated with the user to determine a trigger event, determining content associated with the trigger event, and causing the content to be presented to the user. A trigger rule is created which defines the trigger event, representing when content is to be presented. A number of different types of event criteria may be defined, such as position event criteria, movement event criteria, timing or duration criteria, time and/or date criteria, heart rate criteria, or the like, allowing each of the event criteria to be associated with a respective type of sensor. Also disclosed is a method and apparatus for charging for providing content to a user.

Abstract: A cavity (3) such as the urethra of a patient is lined by providing a lining device that comprises an eversible chamber (12) and a liner (16) connected thereto. Fluid pressure is applied to the chamber (12) to cause the chamber (12) to evert and advance into the cavity (3) such that the chamber (12) carries the liner (16) into the cavity. A vacuum is then applied to the chamber (12) to cause it to deflate. A part, such as a catheter or cable, can then be inserted into the cavity through the liner (16). If the cavity is the urethra of a patient, the liner shields the catheter from the distal part (1) of the urethra which is colonised with bacteria, and therefore reduces the risk of a urinary tract infection.

Some exemplary embodiments allow angular adjustment of a portion of the tap assembly without disturbing the tapered thread engagement of the tap on the mounting surface. Abstract: A location information system uses a positioning system, such as the civilian Navstar Global Positioning System (GPS), in combination with a distributed network. The location information system includes a radio transceiver for communicating to the distributed network and a GPS receiving system. The GPS receiving system receives a signal from the GPS and converts it into a coordinate entry. The coordinate entry is transmitted to the distributed network for retrieval of corresponding location specific information. The location specific information may reside on a web page. The coordinate entry may be incorporated into the web page address that supports the coordinate entry or linked to an existing web page associated with the coordinate entry. The web page and associated information is displayed. Bar code labels, infrared beacons and other labeling systems may also be used in the location information system in place of or in addition to the GPS receiving system to supply location identification information.
