  • Patent number: 8521562
Abstract: A method for diagnosing diseases in human subjects and a computer system implementing the method. The novel method uses historical patient medical records to create tables, which are used by a medical center to determine what diagnostic test is associated with confirmation of a disease in question. The method provides nonparametric, retrospective, disease cohort, rank ordered, weighted concatenation tables, which are unique to a disease and specific to the medical center where they are created, with prospective application. The method is more efficient and effective than presently used methods.

  • Patent number: 8519651
Abstract: A system to control an asynchronous tri-phase motor may include a braking resistance coupled to receive output voltage from the voltage multiplier to dissipate energy when the system is in a braking mode. The system may further include a module to emit a pulse train (e.g., Pulse Width Modulation (PWM)) and having a frequency selectively determined by a microcontroller. The module may be operatively coupled to apply the pulse train to an H bridge circuit in the IGBT module, which is coupled to pass a conditioned line voltage to the tri-phase motor in response to the PWM pulse train applied to the H bridge circuit in the IGBT module.

  • Publication number: 20130200203
Abstract: A support for mounting a paperboard yarn core on a spindle assembly includes a proximal-end support member for supporting a proximal end of the core and engaging it in a substantially non-slip manner, and a distal-end support member for supporting a distal end of the core. The proximal-end support member is configured to be mounted on a hub of the spindle assembly. The support members locate the core substantially coaxially with respect to a rotational axis of the spindle assembly. The proximal-end support member is configured to automatically prevent or minimize slippage of the core with respect to the support member both in acceleration and deceleration or braking of the spindle assembly.

  • Patent number: 8341894
Abstract: An enclosure is made out of transparent or translucent panes which form a chamber (1) through which a liquid flows in closed circuit and which interchanges energy with the inner and outer environments, a heat exchanger (2) in contact with the liquid, a circulation pump (3), and a hydrostatic pressure reducer device (4). The hydrostatic pressure reducer device allows the reduction of the thicknesses of the transparent panes which hold the liquid inside. The active character of the enclosure is due to its capacity of controlling the solar heat load and the illumination. The solar heat load is regulated through the heat exchanger. The illumination of the building is controlled through the adjustable transparency of the liquid. The described enclosure allows the creation of an isothermal envelope which allows the climatization of the building. The system can be used for active outer enclosures or for interior partitions for the climatization and luminic control, as well as for glass roofs or false ceilings.

  • Patent number: 8275549
Abstract: The online measurement system of radioactive tracers in oil wells head, object of this invention, is characterized by the use of new technology to measure concentrations of tracer activity in real time, using a radiation detector NaI (TI), with features that make it possible to detect up to three different tracers and be able to operate in temperature conditions up to 150° C., which allows to be immersed in a container with fluid coming from the flow stream, achieving with this to increase the sensitivity of the measurements. This system of measurement in the head of production wells will allow having much more data of the tracer activity, avoiding having to transport the operational staff to production wells to carry out sampling test, with all the advantages that this represents.

  • Patent number: 8086560
Abstract: A method, system and program product for specifying, in a schema mapping framework, a mapping between a source schema and a target schema. The source and target schemas are schemas included in respective groups of registered, heterogeneous schemas. The source and target schemas may be of different types. Serialized versions of the source and target schemas include source objects and target objects, respectively. A mapping model is serialized into mapping objects that include logical references representing the source objects and logical references representing the target objects. The logical references are resolved to the source objects and target objects, thereby storing pointers to the source objects and to the target objects. After resolving the logical references, the mapping model includes the logical references and the pointers to the source and target objects.

  • Patent number: 7712042
Abstract: Techniques are provided for viewing mappings between objects. A main view is displayed, wherein the main view shows one or more source objects, one or more target objects, and zero or more mappings between the one or more source objects and the one or more target objects. Input selecting a type of view to be displayed in the main view is received, wherein each type of view provides a different amount of detail regarding the mappings. In response to receiving the input, the selected type of view is created, and the created view is displayed. Additionally, techniques are provided for viewing objects. One or more objects along with mappings between the one or more objects are displayed. View filters are provided that may be applied to the one or more objects, wherein the view filters enable hiding at least one of mapped or unmapped objects. Moreover, techniques are provided for viewing nodes. A structure is displayed that includes one or more nodes.

  • Patent number: 7512642
Abstract: A method and system for generating a query implementing a schema mapping. A mapping M is provided from a schema S to a schema T, where M relates S to T, and M includes a plurality of constraints. Schemas S and T each include one or more elements, and T includes at least one set type element. Mapping M is expressed in terms of at least one nested tuple-generating dependency. A query Q is generated where Q is capable of applying M to an input instance I to result in an output instance J, where I conforms to S, J conforms to T, and I and J satisfy the plurality of constraints. Instance J is in partitioned normal form (i.e., satisfies minimal union semantics) and includes no duplicate element instances.

  • Publication number: 20080243765
Abstract: A method for generating nested mapping specifications and transformation queries based thereon. Basic mappings are generated based on source and target schemas and correspondences between elements of the schemas. A directed acyclic graph (DAG) is constructed whose edges represent ways in which each basic mapping is nestable under any of the other basic mappings. Any transitively implied edges are removed from the DAG. Root mappings of the DAG are identified. Trees of mappings are automatically extracted from the DAG, where each tree of mappings is rooted at a root mapping and expresses a nested mapping specification.

A transformation query is generated from the nested mapping specification by generating a first query for transforming source data into flat views of the target and a second query for nesting flat view data according to the target format. Generating the first query includes applying default Skolemization to the specification.
