Patent number: 7298276Abstract: Electronic equipment for safety and control of workers who work in risky conditions, which consists of data and voice repeaters that form a “guide line” that also act as an audible and visible reference in low visibility conditions, the repeaters communicating with the personalised devices attached to the arm of each fire fighter to indicate their state by means of a motion sensor. The personalised fire fighter devices also transmit to the repeaters the signals received from the pressure gauges for each fire fighter using the ABU's (autonomous breathing units). The signals sent by the repeaters are transmitted to the central system, which forwards them to a computer where all the information is displayed. The central system also emits signals to the fire fighters, either directly or through the repeaters. The personalised device turns on automatically when it detects motion.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2004Date of Patent: November 20, 2007Inventor: Antonio Perez Garcia

Publication number: 20070053794Abstract: A sample identification system that may be used to track and correlate a sample container in a laboratory analyzer or the like is set forth. The exemplary laboratory analyzer employs at least one carrier that supports at least one sample tube. The sample identification system includes a first optical reader that has a first field of view that is sufficient to expose the first optical reader to targeted visual indicia that identifies the carrier. The system further includes a second optical reader that has a second field of view that is sufficient to expose the second optical reader to targeted visual indicia identifying the sample tube held by the carrier. One or more decoders may be used to extract the identification information from the targeted visual indicia. The identification information then may be provided to a process controller, which may use the information for one or more predetermined purposes.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 8, 2005Publication date: March 8, 2007Applicant: Beckman Coulter, Inc.Inventors: Antonio Perez, Eduardo Delgado

Patent number: 6538430Abstract: A method and system for the rapid automatic screening of GMR heads for Barkhausen noise during production. This system rapidly and repeatedly measures associated noise in a GMR head subjected to a smoothly-varying external transverse magnetic field. The repeated Transverse Magnetic-field Excited Noise (TMEN) measurements are automatically sorted into bins to form a histogram, which is then automatically evaluated to develop TMEN range and weighted sum measures, which are then compared with predetermined standards for automatic acceptance or rejection of the GMR head under test. The GMR sensor Barkhausen noise is quantified through the use of a bandpass filter to remove all direct sensor responses, leaving only the noise signals, which are then repeatedly sampled to develop valid statistical Barkhausen noise measures suitable for automated analysis.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 2001Date of Patent: March 25, 2003Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Chris Carrington, Peter Cheng-I Fang, Don Horne, Christopher Dana Keener, Kenneth Donald Mackay, Antonio Perez, Jr., Frederick William Stukey, Jr.

Patent number: 6415496Abstract: A process for making a dismountable and/or fixed traction-compression coupling to be applied to composite materials, in which a basic laminate (1) of composite material is folded at least once to obtain at least one skirt (2) forming an angle close to 90° with the rest of the laminate; by using a transition radius between the skirt and the rest of the laminate, a set of distribution plates (5, 6) is applied over the basic laminate to stabilize the skirt and produce a uniform load distribution, making holes in each set of distribution skirt-plates and introducing traction bolts (4) with an initial pretension in said holes, hence obtaining the connection between the components to be joined. The invention is applicable to the aerodynamic structures of aircraft.Type: GrantFiled: July 16, 1999Date of Patent: July 9, 2002Assignee: Construcciones Aeronauticas, S.A.Inventors: Rafael Dominguez Casado, Antonio Perez Perez, Manuel Huertas Garcia, Manuel de Castro Nodal, Carlos Cerezo Pancorbo, Bonifacio Robledo Sacristan, César Grueso Diez, Enrique Redondo Vara

Patent number: 6036599Abstract: A crop processing arrangement (28) is proposed with a cylindrical rotor housing (42), an eccentric axle (44) rotatively supported in bearings therein and tines (46) rotatively supported in bearings on the eccentric axle (44). The transverse inclination of the tines can be varied by shifting the axial position of the eccentric axle relative to the cylindrical rotor housing. In this way a loosening and sideways movement of the crop conveyed by the tines (46) is attained with a relatively simple mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: March 2, 1998Date of Patent: March 14, 2000Assignee: Deere & CompanyInventor: Antonio Perez-Lopez
