  • Publication number: 20190013186
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods are provided that, in some embodiments use an adjustable middle coil to tune plasma density in a plasma processing system. For example, in one embodiment, a plasma processing apparatus includes an impedance match circuit coupled to an Rf power source. The impedance match circuit measures voltage and current at an inner and an outer coil. The match circuit calculates plasma density from the measured voltage and/or current. An adjustable middle coil located between the inner and outer coils is adjusted and/or replaced to tune the plasma density radial profile.

  • Patent number: 9924870
Abstract: A method for monitoring physiological parameters associated with a subject using a hand held device is described herein. In an implementation, the method includes obtaining a plurality of sample photoplethysmographic (PPG) features associated with a sample subject, from a video of a body part of the sample subject. From among the plurality of sample PPG features, at least one relevant sample PPG feature associated with the physiological parameter, is selected based on a ground truth value of the physiological parameter for the subject. Further, based on the at least one relevant sample PPG feature and the ground truth value of the physiological parameter, a mathematical model indicative of a correlation between the relevant sample PPG feature and the physiological parameter, is determined. The mathematical model can be deployed for monitoring the physiological parameter in real time.

  • Patent number: 9187824
Abstract: A process for rapid synthesis of few-layer graphene films on Cu foil by microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition (MPCVD). The plasma/metal interaction can be useful for a rapid synthesis of such thin films. The process can produce films of controllable quality from amorphous to highly crystalline by adjusting plasma conditions during growth processes of ˜100 sec duration and with little or no supplemental substrate heating. Films have been characterized using Raman spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The results help to identify the stages involved in the MPCVD deposition of thin carbon films on Cu foil. In yet other embodiments, the films are doped during synthesis by introduction of nitrogen gas in the reactor. Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy and scanning tunneling microscopy reveal crystal structure and chemical characteristics.

  • Patent number: 8209277
Abstract: Particular embodiments of the present invention are directed to systems and methods for predicting the outcome of events based on internet activity associated with such events. For example, an internet activity metric associated with one or more events may be determined. The internet activity metric may be based at least on the popularity of particular search terms related to the events. The outcomes of the events may also be determined. The determined internet activity metrics and the outcomes of the one or more events may be analyzed to generate an algorithm for predicting the outcomes of subsequent events. For example, an internet activity metric associated with a particular subsequent event (e.g., based at least on the popularity of a particular search term related to the subsequent event) may be determined, and the algorithm may be applied to the internet activity metric to predict the outcome of the particular subsequent event.

  • Publication number: 20110262018
Abstract: A computer implemented method and system for fully-automatic cardiac functional assessment are provided. Automatic segmentation of a series of ultrasonic cardiac images is performed for delineating an endocardium boundary and an epicardium boundary, in each of the ultrasonic cardiac images using a segmentation algorithm. Multiple acoustic markers are identified on the endocardium boundary on the ultrasonic cardiac images. The acoustic markers are tracked across the ultrasonic cardiac images over multiple cardiac cycles using a tracking algorithm. Multiple cardiac parameters are calculated using the tracked acoustic markers on drift compensated ultrasonic cardiac images. The computer implemented method and system for cardiac functional assessment is fully-automatic without requiring user intervention or inputs.

  • Publication number: 20110055229
Abstract: An improved system and method for generating a valuation of online sessions on a website following a keyword search. The revenue generated for online sessions of users for pairs of keyword/referrer may be calculated from activities performed on the website during the online sessions and may be added to a sum representing the session value for the pair of keyword/referrer on the website. In an embodiment, the revenue opportunity of the pairs of keyword/referrer for a website may be estimated by multiplying the session value by the difference of a total count of clicks for multiple websites on search results by a referrer for the keyword and a count of clicks for the website on search results by a referrer for the keyword. The pairs of keyword/referrer may be ranked for the website by the estimated revenue opportunity, and then applied to optimize monetization of online content.

  • Publication number: 20110029338
Abstract: An improved system and method for generating a valuation of online users and websites is provided. The revenue and cost for a user's activities on a website may be calculated for a time period. To calculate the revenue and cost for activities of a user on a website, values for each type of activities of a user on website may be accumulated and input into a function with the value of a revenue type or cost type associated with activities of users on the website. The monetary value of an online user for a website may be calculated as the difference of the revenue for a user and the cost for a user on the website. And the monetary value of a user for a website may be used to generate a valuation of the online user and a valuation of the website.

  • Patent number: 7152033
Abstract: A method for multi-modal data fusion (100), a multi-modal system data fusion system (10) and module (24) that in use operates by receiving segments (125) of multi-modal data associated respectively with a modalitiy. Initiating (130) a dynamically variable wait period after one of the segments is received is then performed. The dynamically variable wait period has a duration determined from data fusion timing statistics of the system (10). A waiting (140) for reception of any further segments during the dynamically variable wait period is then effected and thereafter a fusing (145) of the segments received provides fused data that is sent (160) to a dialog manager (25).

  • Publication number: 20040083277
Abstract: A method of designing a network for an Internet Service Provider (ISP) is taught. The ISP provides routers that handle predetermined traffic demands and that are connected by links. An ordered sequence of (source-destination) pairs of routers is obtained. A particular (source-destination) pair and a minimum capacity on each potential link for the predicted traffic demands on the selected (source-destination) pair are selected. The differential cost of the link is then found, followed by a determination of the least-cost path for the selected (source-destination) pair. The current capacity and current cost of the network are then updated. The process repeats for all (source-destination) pairs in the ordered sequence. Least-cost paths can be determined using the Bellman-Ford method. The output of the basic method can be further refined by the Link Removal Heuristic (LRH) method, and/or a Flow Removal Heuristic (FRH) method.
