Publication number: 20120269195Abstract: A method of operating a data network may include establishing a data path through the data network between a routing gateway and service provider equipment providing a data service. Moreover, the data service may be provided for use at the routing gateway over the data path during a data session. A request may be received from the service provider equipment where the request defines a data flow characteristic for the data path between the routing gateway and the service provider equipment providing the data service. The data flow characteristic may then be transmitted to a network element along the data path between the routing gateway and the service provider equipment. A request from service provider equipment can include an allowed bandwidth or prioritization. Related methods, data networks, data service providers, routing gateways, and computer program products are also discussed.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 1, 2012Publication date: October 25, 2012Applicant: AT&T INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY I, LPInventors: Maria Adamczyk, Thomas Arnold Anschutz, Alan Ryan Blackburn, Jeffrey Patrick Cassanova, Sammie Walter Hill, Scott Crandall Holt, Nicholas Steven Huslak, Arnold Chester McQuaide, JR., Edgar Vaughan Shrum, JR., Scott Traynham Stillman, Steven Allen Wright, Li Zhang

Patent number: 8180704Abstract: A system and method for notifying one or more credit card companies of lost or stolen credit cards relatively automatically upon noticing that the one or more credit cards are missing. A user profile is created and stored on a server computer system, wherein the user profile has user verification information, credit card account information and credit card company contact information, typically for each credit card owned by a particular user. Using the user profile, the server computer system receives a request to cancel one or more of the owner's credit cards. The server computer system then communicates with each individual credit card company, relatively automatically, to notify of the loss. The communication may involve the request to cancel the credit card(s), as well as a request for a replacement credit card.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 2002Date of Patent: May 15, 2012Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Arnold Chester McQuaide, Jr., Linda A. Patent number: 8174970Abstract: A method of operating a data network may include establishing a data path through the data network between a routing gateway for a subscriber of the data network and a service provider providing a data service. Moreover, the data service may be provided for use at the routing gateway over the data path during a data session. A request may be received from the service provider wherein the request defines a data flow characteristic for the data path between the routing gateway and the service provider providing the data service during the data session. The data flow characteristic may then be transmitted to a node along the data path between the routing gateway and the service provider for enforcement of the data flow characteristic for the data path at the node. More particularly, the data session may be a point-to-point protocol data session. Related methods, data networks, data service providers, routing gateways, and computer program products are also discussed.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 2004Date of Patent: May 8, 2012Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property I, L.P.Inventors: Maria Adamczyk, Thomas Arnold Anschutz, Alan Ryan Blackburn, Jeffrey Patrick Cassanova, Sammie Walter Hill, Scott Crandall Holt, Nicholas Steven Huslak, Arnold Chester McQuaide, Jr., Edgar Vaughan Shrum, Jr., Scott Traynham Stillman, Steven Allen Wright, Li Zhang

Publication number: 20100135269Abstract: A WAP-enabled device can request text-based and/or voice based content from a WAP Server. The WAP device communicates over a conventional wireless service provider network. This network provides a connection between the WAP device and a WAP Gateway. The WAP Gateway operates as a gateway between the wireless service provider network and the TCP/IP-based Internet. Content requests are sent from the WAP gateway to the WAP Server. When a request for voice-based content delivery is received, the WAP Server responds by sending a TCP/IP instruction to a Voice Portal Node. The Voice Portal Node is operative to establish a voice-based communication session with the WAP device. The WAP Server will transmit voice-based content to the Voice Portal Node. An audible transmission is then played over the telephone connection established between the Voice Portal Node and the WAP device in response to the request initiated by the WAP device.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 19, 2009Publication date: June 3, 2010Applicant: AT&T INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY I, L.P.Inventors: Robert A. Koch, Arnold Chester McQuaide, JR.
