    Abstract: Systems, methods, and data storage devices for data recovery from network storage systems are described. The data storage device may include a host data channel for data transfer with the host and a network data channel for data transfer with the network storage system over a network. Responsive to a read error when reading a data unit, the data storage device establishes a secure data transfer connection with the network storage system to request the failed data unit from the network storage system. The data unit retrieved from the network storage system may be used to respond to the original read request and restore the data unit in the data storage device.

    Abstract: A data storage device and method for host-initiated cached read to recover corrupted data within timeout constraints are provided. In one embodiment, a data storage device is provided comprising a volatile memory, a non-volatile memory, and a controller. The controller is configured to receive a read look-ahead command from a host to perform a read look-ahead of a first logical address; receive a read command from the host to read a second logical address; and execute the read look-ahead command by performing the following as background operations while executing the read command: read data for a location in the non-volatile memory that corresponds to the first logical address; correct an error in the data; and cache the corrected data in the volatile memory. The cached corrected data can be sent back to the host in response to the host requesting a read of the same logical address. Other embodiments are provided.

The method further comprises the step of processing the image to obtain one or more angular measurements associated with a posture displayed by the person in the image. Based on the obtained angular measurements, location data of a predetermined body point of the person relative to the reference point is extracted.

    Abstract: In this work, we investigated the blood platelet adhesion and activation of truly superhemophobic surfaces and compared them with that of hemophobic surfaces and hemophilic surfaces. Our analysis indicates that only those superhemophobic surfaces with a robust Cassie-Baxter state display significantly lower platelet adhesion and activation. The understanding gained through this work will lead to the fabrication of improved hemocompatible, superhemophobic medical implants.

An aspect of the present technology is avoid storing out of order data in a snapshot but just store the out of order data as additional data linked to the temporal graph. The present technology receives out of order data and records a modification time for the data and a next modification time for the data that equals a timestamp of data previously stored in the database. If there is also data in the database for a time earlier than the timestamp of the out of order data, the earlier data is adjusted so that its next modification time matches the timestamp of the out of order data.

    Abstract: Multi-object tracking in autonomous vehicles uses both camera data and LiDAR data for training, but not LiDAR data at query time. Thus, no LiDAR sensor is on a piloted autonomous vehicle. Example systems and methods rely on camera 2D object detections alone, rather than 3D annotations. Example systems/methods utilize a single network that is given a camera image as input and can learn both object detection and dense depth in a multimodal regression setting, where the ground truth LiDAR data is used only at training time to compute depth regression loss. The network uses the camera image alone as input at test time (i.e., when deployed for piloting an autonomous vehicle) and can predict both object detections and dense depth of the scene. LiDAR is only used for data acquisition and is not required for drawing 3D annotations or for piloting the vehicle.
