  • Patent number: 9749794
Abstract: A computing device includes at least one processor and a memory, the memory storing computer-executable instructions for causing the device to be configured to load a subset of geo-fences from secondary storage to primary storage for tracking by the computing device, the subset of geo-fences selected from a set of available geo-fences stored in the secondary storage, based on a selection criteria. The computing device further creates a boundary geo-fence with a radius corresponding to a distance between a current location of the computing device and an edge of a geo-fence in the subset of geo-fences that is furthest from the current location of the computing device. Upon detecting a geo-fence event associated with a new location of the computing device in relation to the boundary geo-fence, a new subset of geo-fences is re-loaded, and a new boundary geo-fence is created based on the new location of the computing device.

  • Patent number: 9748266
Abstract: A gate dielectric layer including a tunneling gate dielectric layer, a charge trapping gate dielectric layer, and a cap gate dielectric layer is formed on a horizontal semiconductor channel. An alternating stack of insulating layers and spacer material layers is formed over the gate dielectric layer. The spacer material layers are formed as, or are subsequently replaced with, electrically conducive layers. Memory stack structures are formed through the alternating stack and the gate dielectric layer. Electrical charges can be injected into the charge trapping gate dielectric layer from the horizontal semiconductor channel to program the threshold voltage of a select field effect transistor employing a bottommost electrically conductive layer as a select gate electrode. The programmable threshold voltage can be advantageously employed to provide enhanced electrical isolation among word lines.

  • Patent number: 9747555
Abstract: A computer generates labels for machine learning algorithms by retrieving, from a data storage circuit, multiple label sets that contain labels that each classify data points in a corpus of data. A graph is generated that includes a plurality of edges, each edge between two respective labels from different label sets of the multiple label sets. Weights are determined for the plurality of edges based upon a consistency between data points classified by two labels connected by the edges. An algorithm is applied that groups labels from the multiple label sets based upon the weights for the plurality of edges. Data points are identified from the corpus of data that represent conflicts within the grouped labels. An electronic message is transmitted in order to present the identified data points to entities for further classification. A new label set is generated using the further classification received from the entities.

  • Publication number: 20170244395
Abstract: A circuit that stabilizes an output signal of a voltage regulator includes a glitch amplifier, a pulse generator, and a transistor. The glitch amplifier amplifies glitches in the output signal and generates a glitch amplifier output signal. The pulse generator receives the glitch amplifier output signal and generates a control signal. When there is a positive glitch in the output signal and a voltage level of the glitch amplifier output signal is less than a first threshold voltage, the pulse generator deactivates the control signal, which turns off the transistor. When there is a negative glitch in the output signal and the voltage level of the glitch amplifier output signal is greater than a second threshold voltage, the pulse generator activates the control signal, which turns on the transistor and provides a compensating current surge to reduce a voltage droop in the output signal.

  • Publication number: 20170239630
Abstract: Mosquitoes are vectors for many dangerous diseases such as Malaria, Dengue, Yellow Fever, West Nile, and those from Zika virus etc. Mosquito transmitted diseases occur mostly in tropical, developing countries and create public health crises due to lack of adequate resources and rapid transmission. Malaria took 429,000 lives in 2015 and the impending Zika crisis shows the need for effective mosquito control. Nearly half of the world's population is at risk of malaria. Current mosquito control efforts focus on reducing the population of mosquitoes. The many mosquito control strategies such as using tarps to suffocate larvae, insecticides, genetic engineering, biocontrol using fish etc. have substantial drawbacks. These methods are environmentally hazardous, expensive, inefficient, hard to maintain, bulky, or energy intensive. Mosquitoes breed in stagnant water. They cannot breed in agitated water or running water.

  • Publication number: 20170233597
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process of fabricating P(VDF-TrFE) films by modifying the solvent composition. Two solvents MEK and DMSO were mixed in pre-determined ratios and that co-solvent mixture was used for fabricating the P(VDF-TrFE) films. By virtue of such method driven P(VDF-TrFE) films, the ferroelectric capacitors comprising of the same were found to achieve low voltage operation, thermal stability and fatigue endurance, which indicated improved ferroelectric performance of the devices. In addition, the films made by same process also yielded high piezo- and pyro-electric coefficient, indicating improved piezo- and pyro-electric performances of the devices.
