  • Publication number: 20170238067
Abstract: Embodiments are disclosed that provide dynamic creative optimization for video advertisements. In certain embodiments, a content creation system receives a request for a video advertisement from a remote computing system. The request represents attributes of a specific recipient. To generate the video advertisement, the content creation system accesses a collection of assets, such as templates and video elements, from which video content can be generated. The content creation system selects a subset of assets from the collection and combines some or all of the selected subset of assets into a composite content file. The content creation system generates (or causes another system to generate) the requested electronic video advertisement or other video content from the composite content file. The content creation system provides the generated video advertisement or other video content in response to the request that was received from the remote computing system.

  • Publication number: 20170234964
Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for object tracking via identifier-tracker pairings is provided. An identifier with data for a tracker is received. The tracker is paired with the identifier and also associated with an object. The tracker is identified based on the received identifier. A location of the tracker is determined by obtaining readings regarding the tracker on a periodic or continuous basis and calculating the tracker location from the last obtained readings or by requesting readings regarding the tracker upon receipt of the identifier and calculating the tracker location from the requested readings. The location of the tracker is designated as a location of the object associated with the tracker.

  • Patent number: 9736873
Abstract: An M2M Server may be integrated into a 3GPP network. A network node, for example a Serving General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) Support Node (SGSN) may include a dedicated interface with a M2M server. The interface may be called a GM2M interface. The interface may be a logical interface internal to the network node. The node may receive subscriber data and control data, wherein the control data facilitates a network control procedure and the subscriber data identifies a device involved in the network control procedure. The node may determine that the device involved in the network control procedure is a machine to machine device based on the subscriber data. The node may also send the control data to a machine to machine server using a message sent via a dedicated interface with the machine to machine server.

  • Patent number: 9734558
Abstract: A method generates a high-resolution (HR) image from a low-resolution (LR) image using regression functions. During a training stage, training HR images are downsampled to LR images. A signature is determined for each LR-HR patch pair based on a local ternary pattern (LTP). The signature is a low dimensional descriptor used as an abstraction of the patch pair features. Then, patch pairs with the same signature are clustered, and a regression function which maps the LR patches to the HR patches is determined. In some cases patch pairs of similar signatures can be combined for learning and a single regression function determined, thus decreasing the number of required regression functions. During actual upscaling, LR patches of an input image are similarly processed to obtain the signatures and from the regression functions. The LR patches can then be upscaled using the training regression functions.

  • Patent number: 9731726
Abstract: A computer-implemented method, system, and/or computer program product redirects a self-driving vehicle (SDV) to a physical location of a product provider. A self-driving vehicle (SDV) on-board computer on an SDV receives a current location and a planned route to an initial destination of the SDV. The SDV on-board computer receives information describing real-time physiological states of one or more occupants of the SDV, and then identifies a physical location of a product provider that provides a solution to ameliorate the real-time physiological states of the one or more occupants of the SDV. The SDV on-board computer then alters the planned route of the SDV to redirect the SDV on-board computer to autonomously drive the SDV to the physical location of the product provider.

  • Publication number: 20170228804
Abstract: Methods select content to be delivered to a visitor to a real-world venue. One method identifies a visitor to a real-world venue based on tracked physical actions and a profile including previously collected visitor information associated with the venue. The method determines that members of a group are present at the venue with the visitor, where the determining is based at least in part on the previously collected visitor information. Based on determining that the visitor is at the venue with members of the group, content is selected for the visitor. Another method identifies a visitor to a venue as belonging to a group by identifying the visitor based on tracked physical actions and collected visitor information. The tracked actions and visitor information are used to determine whether the visitor is in the venue with members of the group. Tailored content is sent to the visitor based on the determination.

  • Publication number: 20170228107
Abstract: Examples described herein include systems for generating a predictive action button within a graphical user interface. The system can launch an action generator that tracks a user's behavior, either directly or through the use of an action profile. User behavior can be tracked in individual applications or across multiple applications and devices. Action modules can implement application events and procedures to track particular events and behavior information for that application. A module engine can analyze correlations between the events and behaviors. Based on this analysis, the predictive action button can be displayed for carrying out the predicted action when the corresponding application event occurs.

  • Patent number: 9727452
Abstract: Metadata that corresponds to application data is distributed across different disruption regions of an asymmetric memory component such that metadata is written in the same disruption region as the application data to which it corresponds. A first block of application data is written to a first disruption region and a second block of application data is written to a second disruption region. A first block of metadata corresponding to the first block of application data and a second block of metadata corresponding to the second block of application data both are generated. The first block of metadata is written to the first disruption region and the second block of metadata is written to the second disruption region such that the first and second blocks of metadata are written to the same disruption regions as the blocks of application data to which they correspond.

  • Patent number: 9724129
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to software used in planning the correction of bone deformities preoperatively or postoperatively, and in particular relates to virtually manipulating rings and struts of an external fixation frame in order to plan the steps for making a desired correction to two or more bone portions of a patient. The software can be used prior to surgery, allowing a user to virtually define a bone deformity, and virtually add and manipulate fixation rings and struts to the bone deformity. Based on the virtual manipulations, a correction plan can be generated that describes length adjustments that should be made to the plurality of model struts over a period of time to correct the bone deformity. The software can also be used after surgical fixation of the fixation frame and struts to the deformed bone.

  • Patent number: 9729648
Abstract: The social networking system monitors implicit interactions between a user and objects of the social networking system with which the user has not established a connection. Based on the implicit interactions between the user and an object, the social networking system identifies a soft connection between the user and the object. The social networking system may then identify soft connections to include in a candidate list of soft connections to recommend to the user. The social networking system may also extract signals from the set of candidate list of soft connections, and may use the extracted signals to rank the soft connections in the list of candidate soft connections. The social networking system may then recommend soft connections to the user based on the rank associated with the soft connections in the candidate list of soft connections.
