  • Publication number: 20140365442
Abstract: A method for product for archival management of business processes in a cloud environment is provided. In one aspect, the method comprises archiving managed pool including one or more versions of a business process instance or business process execution in a cloud computing environment. The method further comprises a provisioning manager of the cloud computing environment that requests or tasks provisioning, deprovisioining, decommissioning or deleting the one or more versions of a business process instance or business process execution. For each of the requests or tasks, a restore manager of the cloud environment determines, if the managed pools of virtual instances contain a business process management environment or a business process archive manager environment. The restore manager further recreates a previous version of the one or more versions of the business process instance or business process execution based on the determination.

  • Publication number: 20140363942
Abstract: Tungsten silicide layers can be used in CMOS transistors in which the work function of the tungsten silicide layers can be tuned for use in PMOS and NMOS devices. A co-sputtering approach can be used in which silicon and tungsten are deposited on a high dielectric constant gate dielectric layer. The tungsten silicide layer can be annealed at or above a critical temperature to optimize the resistivity of the tungsten silicide layer. In some embodiments, the concentration of as-deposited tungsten silicide can be between 50 at % silicon to 80 at % silicon. The critical temperatures can be lower at higher silicon concentration, such as 700 C. at 63 at % silicon to 600 C. at 74 at % silicon.

  • Publication number: 20140359328
Abstract: A method and system for dynamic or run-time reallocation of leakage current and dynamic power supply current of a processor. In one embodiment of the invention, the processor uses the variation in the leakage current of the processor to reduce the maximum current dissipation or power supply current of the processor (ICCmax). By reducing the maximum current dissipation, the system cost can be reduced as a less expensive power delivery system is required in one embodiment of the invention.

  • Publication number: 20140358766
Abstract: A system or method for implementing working capital for merchants is provided. In particular, a payment service provider may provide working capital to merchants based on the merchant's sales or payment history. For example, based on a merchant's sales or payment history, a close-ended (fixed amount) loan based on expected customer sales, with no fixed duration, no end date, and no interest, is provided to the merchant The “loan” may be viewed as a hybrid cash advance/loan product. Further, the repayment for the loan may be derived from future sales. The payment service provider may monitor sales volume of the merchant based on payment activities at the merchant. Based on the loan term, a portion of the sales revenue of the merchant may be directed for repayment of the loan. Thus, the repayment may be contingent on sales volume to provide the merchant with flexibility in loan repayment.

  • Publication number: 20140359641
Abstract: Programmable data recorders are provided in a network semiconductor chip to monitor and record all or portions of data from various interfaces, including the input and output interfaces of network links interfacing the chip. A data recorder is provided for each network link. The data recorders store captured data in storage arrays. Data may be compressed and associated with time stamps to conserve space in the storage arrays. A data recorder manager in the chip may start and stop the data recorders at approximately the same time. The programmable mode of the data recorders determines which interfaces are monitored, the portion of data captured, and the format of the data in the storage arrays.

  • Publication number: 20140359197
Abstract: A method and system are provided for implementing enhanced flash storage control using reinforcement learning to provide enhanced performance metrics. A flash controller, such as a Reinforcement Learning (RL) flash controller, is coupled to a flash storage. The flash controller defines a feature set of flash parameters determined by a predefined one of a plurality of optimization metrics. The optimization metric is adapted dynamically based upon system workload and system state. The flash controller employing the feature set including at least one feature responsive to erase operations; computes a current system state responsive to the employed feature set; selects actions at each time step by sensing the computed current system state for performing an action to maximize a long term reward, and moves to another state in the system while obtaining a short-term reward for the performed action.
