  • Publication number: 20130124552
Abstract: Technologies are described herein for locating relevant content items across multiple disparate content sources. Query parameters are received from a user interface for defining a query for searching a number of content sources located on multiple, disparate content servers. A native search is executed on each of the content servers based on the received query parameters, and query statistics and other data regarding content items in the content sources matching the query parameters are received. The query statistics are aggregated across the content servers and presented in the user interface. The presentation of the query statistics may be broken out by each content source, by each query phrase segmented from the query, and the like. In addition, a preview of a number of content items matching the query parameters is presented based on the data received.

  • Publication number: 20130120248
Abstract: Systems and methods are presented for applying visual effects while in a mode that restricts cursor movement to track an existing path. While in cursor path restriction mode, spatial inputs may be received from a pointing device configured to control a cursor on a display, with the spatial inputs signaling positions on the display. The cursor moves on a restricted path that tracks an existing path in response to the spatial signals, with the cursor confined to the restricted path even when spatial signals may indicate a point not on the restricted path. During the cursor movement, in addition to the movement of the cursor, there may be an alteration of what appears on the display, where the alteration depends on movement of the cursor along at least a portion of the restricted path.

  • Publication number: 20130124898
Abstract: A method and system for saving and/or retrieving context information of a processor core for a power state transition. The processor core resides in a complex power domain variously transitioning between a plurality of power states. The processor core includes a local context storage area for storage and retrieval of processor core context information. A low power context storage resides in a nominal power domain external to the complex power domain. Context information of the processor core is stored to the low power context storage based on whether a power state transition of the complex power domain includes a transition to power down the processor core.

  • Publication number: 20130110423
Abstract: Techniques pertaining to analyzing power consumed by a processing unit in a mobile computing device caused by execution of certain modules are described herein. A power trace is generated that indicates an amount of power consumed by the processing unit over time, and the power trace is aligned with an execution log. Spikes are extracted from the power trace, and computing operations are performed over the spikes to acquire data pertaining to power consumed by the processing unit that are attributable to modules in the execution log.

  • Publication number: 20130111020
Abstract: In general, the subject matter described in this specification can be embodied in methods, systems, and program products for monitoring application program resource consumption. Information that identifies consumption, by multiple computing devices and at requests of a particular application program, of resources that correspond to the computing devices is accessed. Each of the multiple computing devices provided a portion of the information. The accessed information is analyzed by a computing system to determine one or more values that identify consumption of the resources by at least a subset of the computing devices. An indicium that illustrates the one or more values is provided for display on a particular computing device and in cooperation with a display of a network-accessible application program software marketplace. The application program software marketplace provides application program software for execution by the particular computing device and other computing devices.

  • Patent number: 8434057
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide systems and methods for optimizing handling of breakpoints in a debugger agent. Embodiments generate an additional modified bytecode copy that includes location indexes associated with breakpoint requests at the breakpoint locations. The location indexes may correspond to a location in a data structure in which the breakpoint information (e.g., request identifier and associated location information) is stored. The location index identified by the additional bytecode copy for a breakpoint may then be used to directly access the appropriate location in the data structure for generating a desired reply packet. Thus, the location index may effectively allow the debugger agent to generate the reply packet without searching through a complex data structure for the relevant request information.

  • Publication number: 20130104044
Abstract: Application programs delivered from one or more cloud computing systems (“clouds” or “CCSs”) are integrated into a desktop being delivered/hosted by another cloud (“primary” CCS). In one respect, the integration includes integration of controls for directly launching a separately hosted application program from a desktop hosted by the primary CCS, such as by selection of a start menu entry or activation of a “shortcut” icon that points to the application program. In another respect, a separately hosted application program is launched based on a user opening or accessing content (e.g. data file) that is specifically associated with the separately hosted application program but residing more locally, such as in the hosted desktop. In this aspect, the content is seamlessly redirected to the other cloud without requiring any direct network connectivity between the clouds.

  • Patent number: 8428786
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method determines an area for a load reduction of resources. Statistics regarding a past history of load reductions for a plurality of consumers in the area is then determined. Load reduction ratings for the plurality of consumers based on the statistics is then determined. The load reduction rating may be used to rank the consumers based on the result of past load reductions. A list of consumers and devices is then determined for the load reduction. For example, consumers and associated devices are selected based on their load reduction rating. The amount of savings is calculated to be equal to an amount of load reduction that is desired. A signal requesting a load reduction is then sent for the determined consumers and devices.

  • Patent number: 8428239
Abstract: A method for playing a local ringback tone is disclosed. A second party device is called from a calling party device. An alert message indicating that the calling party device is to play a network ringback tone is received. It is determined whether to play a pre-stored local ringback tone instead of the network ringback tone. The local ringback tone or the network ringback tone is played based on the determination. • Patent number: 8428739
Abstract: This system gives the experimenter great flexibility to present spatio-temporal stimulation patterns to a subject. A video configuration file (VCF) editor allows the experimenter to determine the electrical stimulation parameters for each electrode. A Pattern Stimulation software program allows direct stimulation of chosen patterns of electrodes, scaled by the subject's VCF, through a Graphical User Interface. The subject then responds by drawing the outline of the phosphene he or she perceives on a touchscreen. The Pattern Stimulation program saves all of the trial parameters and the parameters of an ellipse fit to their drawing, as well as a raw data file containing the input to the touchscreen is saved. After the experiment, offline image analysis can be performed to obtain a detailed quantitative description of the subject's percepts. Image descriptors can assigned to the touchscreen data; these image descriptors can be used to make formalized comparisons between various experimental conditions.
