Abstract: A preferred communication application hierarchy that specifies user priorities for application selection for communication sessions and functional communication capabilities of each prioritized application is configured for at least one user of a group of users. A real-time communication request, initiated by a user with a configured preferred communication application hierarchy, is detected that specifies a particular type of communication functionality and that includes an indication of another one of the group of users as a requested communication recipient. Responsive to detecting the real-time communication request that specifies the particular type of communication functionality, a highest-priority application usable to perform the specified particular type of communication functionality with a communication device of the requested communication recipient is selected from the configured preferred communication application hierarchy of the requesting user.

Abstract: According to one embodiment of the present invention, a system for adaptively, dynamically managing a budget adjusts budget categories in response to a potential purchase exceeding the target amount of one budget category and creating an overage. Certain budget categories may have an adjustable target amount while other budget categories may have fixed target amounts and, thus, the budget categories with adjustable target amounts may be adjusted or modified in order to accommodate an overage in another budget category. The budget categories to be modified may be selected based on various priorities and may be suggested to the user for modification upon selection.

If the multimedia content contains a possible answer to the question, a confidence score can be assigned to at least one segment of the multimedia content that covers the at least one possible answer, the confidence score assigned to the segment of the multimedia content indicating a probability that the segment of the multimedia content answers the question. Based on the confidence score assigned to segment of the multimedia content, the segment of the multimedia content can be selected. Based on the selected segment of the multimedia content, an answer to the question presented by the user can be automatically generated and presented to the user.

Abstract: Disclosed aspects relate to commentary management in a social networking environment. The social networking environment may include a set of media clips. The set of media clips may be analyzed in the social networking environment with respect to a set of commentary typology data. Based on the analyzing, a set of benchmark typology data which indicates a set of commentary norms of the set of media clips may be determined. A set of benchmark typology data may be established for utilization by the social networking environment.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for determining a relative orientation of speakers that receive audio signals from a portable audio source device. In an embodiment, a microphone coupled with the portable audio source device receives a first sound from a first speaker and a second sound from a second speaker. An orientation detector determines a volume of at least one of the first and second sounds and the portable audio source device detects a movement of the portable audio source device. The orientation detector detects a variation in the determined volume and determines a relative orientation of the first and second speakers based, at least in part, on the detected movement and the detected variation in the determined volume.

Activities with context may be processed based on one or more of verbal communications and written communications from the collected information. Sentiments of the user may be determined over time based on the collected information and the processed activities. The sentiments may be analyzed in order to identify a variation in the sentiments over time, which indicate a change in satisfaction of the user. An alert regarding an unsatisfied user may be provided in response to comparing the variation in the sentiments with a threshold. A recommendation to alleviate dissatisfaction of the user may be presented.

Abstract: In an approach to determine a product rating a computer receives a user request for a product rating. The computer retrieves from on-line sources, product information on the product and analyzes the product information to determine a first product rating. The analysis includes at least a sentiment, and a trend of the sentiment. The approach includes a computer identifying products similar to the product and retrieving from on-line sources product information on similar products. A computer extracts comments on the product from the similar product information and determines an adjustment to the first product rating based on an analysis of the comments and references to the product in the similar product information. The adjustment to the first product rating includes using a sentiment, a trend of the sentiment over time, and a frequency of comments and references to the product over time in the retrieved plurality of similar product information.
