Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide methods and apparatus for efficiently signaling multiple modulation and coding schemes (MCSs) for different streams of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) transmission. Certain aspects provide an apparatus including a processing system configured to generate a frame with a payload and a header portion. The header portion may include a first set of bits indicating a plurality of MCSs and a second set of one or more bits indicating, for each portion of a plurality of portions of the payload, one of the plurality of MCSs used to encode the corresponding portion of the payload. In certain aspects, the apparatus also include an interface configured to output the frame for transmission.
