The processor executes a process including: acquiring, from a plurality of devices, group information indicating a management group used to manage the devices and setting information indicating a setting item and setting content that are set in each of the devices; extracting a setting item corresponding to setting content that is common to devices included in a same management group indicated by the acquired group information; and creating, for the extracted setting item, a rule indicating that a common setting content is set to the devices included in the same management group.

Abstract: An apparatus for managing a network system including a plurality of components, the apparatus includes a memory that stores component type data of each component of the plurality of components, component relation data including relation information indicating a pair of components related to each other in the network system and error history data including error information of respective error components in the plurality of components. The apparatus includes a processor that executes a procedure including extracting a pair of component type data as a relation class candidate on the basis of the component type data of a pair of error components indicated by the error information in the error history data, the pair of error components being indicated by the relation information.

Abstract: A managing apparatus includes: a storing unit configured to store fault co-occurrence information storing the number of detection times that a first message pattern indicating a message group including messages received from an information processing system in a predetermined duration is deleted; a determining unit configured to detect the first message pattern, to read the number of detection times from the fault co-occurrence information, to calculate a co-occurrence probability of the fault and the first message pattern based on the number of detection times, and to determine that the fault has occurred if the co-occurrence probability is equal to or higher than a threshold value; and an updating unit configured to create a second message pattern indicating a message group obtained by excluding a message output by a changed component from the first message pattern, and to update the first message pattern to the second message pattern.

The program causes a computer to execute: (a) extracting, from a plurality of log messages that are output from an information system having a plurality of configuration items and that are output in a predetermined period of time, configuration items that output the log messages; (b) calculating a degree of relationship between the configuration items extracted in the (a) extracting; (c) executing learning of the rate of the number of occurrences of troubles in the information system in the number of times the log messages are output, the learning is executed by a number of times corresponding to the degree of relationship calculated in the (b) calculating; and (d) creating, in accordance with a result of the learning in the (c) executing, a trouble pattern message that is output when a trouble occurs.

Abstract: A migration control apparatus for controlling migration of a virtual machine includes a monitoring section, a planning section, a time estimation section, a comparing section, and a plan execution section. The monitoring section monitors a status of a current migration of the virtual machine running on a first physical machine. The planning section makes, on the basis of the status of the current migration, a new migration plan for migrating the virtual machine. The time estimation section estimates a first migration time required to perform a new migration. The comparing section compares the first migration time with a second migration time to determine which migration will be completed earlier. The second migration time is an estimated time required to complete the current migration. The plan execution section performs the new migration when it has been determined that the new migration will be completed earlier.

When a request to enter a cluster is accepted that is a group of a configuration item and an item relationship connected together, the configuration information management device determines a destination to store the cluster, and controls to cause the configuration information storage unit or the different configuration information management device to store the cluster.

Abstract: When searching for a starting point candidate on an abnormality occurred in a first management range, if a search destination extends over a second management range, a first search device transmits a query to a second search device and requests a second search device to search for a starting point of an abnormality in the second management range. The second search device receives the query, searches the second management range for a starting point candidate of an abnormality, replaces a starting point candidate of an abnormality with a dummy configuration item, and transmits a response. Thus, the first search device can search for a starting point candidate of an abnormality without grasping a connection relationship of configuration items in the second management range.

Abstract: There is provided an apparatus and method for executing live-migrations concurrently on a plurality of virtual machines. Resource-usage state information is acquired from each of the plurality of virtual machines when a first live migration of a first virtual machine is started. A correlation factor indicating a degree of correlation between first resource-usage state information for the first virtual machine and second resource-usage state information for each of one or more virtual machines other than the first virtual machine is calculated using the acquired resource-usage state information. Next, a second virtual machine having a positive correlation factor with respect to the first virtual machine is selected from the one or more virtual machines where the positive correlation factor indicating a close similarity between the first and second resource-usage state information. Then, a second live-migration is executed on the second virtual machine in parallel with the ongoing first live migration.

Abstract: A method of generating common trouble case data for managing a plurality of systems. Abstract: There is provided an apparatus and method for executing live-migrations concurrently on a plurality of virtual machines. Resource-usage state information is acquired from each of the plurality of virtual machines when a first live migration of a first virtual machine is started. A correlation factor indicating a degree of correlation between first resource-usage state information for the first virtual machine and second resource-usage state information for each of one or more virtual machines other than the first virtual machine is calculated using the acquired resource-usage state information. Next, a second virtual machine having a positive correlation factor with respect to the first virtual machine is selected from the one or more virtual machines where the positive correlation factor indicating a close similarity between the first and second resource-usage state information. Then, a second live-migration is executed on the second virtual machine in parallel with the ongoing first live migration.

Abstract: Server management data describes observed operating condition of a pool of spare servers. Based on a demand forecast of a specific target system, a dynamic allocation period is determined as a period during which the target system needs additional server resources to handle an expected demand. Based on the dynamic allocation period and server management data, a set of allocation candidates are nominated from the spare server pool, by eliminating therefrom spare servers which are likely to fail during the dynamic allocation period. An appropriate allocation candidate is then selected for allocation to the target system, such that the selected candidate will satisfy a specified requirement during its allocation period.
