  • Publication number: 20090103240
Abstract: A capacitor array includes mutually opposed first and second internal electrodes having a first capacitance portion and a second capacitance portion, respectively, a first lead portion and a second lead portion, respectively, which are electrically connected to a first outer terminal electrode and a second outer terminal electrode, and a first protrusion portion and a second protrusion portion, respectively, which partially protrude toward the second outer terminal electrode and the first outer terminal electrode. The outer terminal electrodes have plating films directly connected to the internal electrodes. The plating film is formed by electrolytic plating. In the electrolytic plating, deposition of plating proceeds while being prevented from spreading in width directions of the individual side surfaces by electric fields generated from the protrusion portions toward the vicinities of exposure portions of the respective lead portions on the side surfaces.

  • Publication number: 20060083342
Abstract: Audio data is oversampled a frame by frame basis at an oversampling ratio of ?, with using an output buffer which has a memory capacity ?+1 times as much as one frame of the data, such that the output buffer is divided into memory areas 1, 2, . . . , ? and ?+1. During a first time slot sharing (??1)/? of a current frame, data of the current frame N is written into the memory area ?+1, while the output buffer outputs a first part of oversampled data of a preceding frame N?1 which has been previously written in the memory areas 1 to ??1 so that the memory areas 1 to ??1 are made free.

  • Patent number: 6845836
Abstract: An engine mounting structure for a motorcycle including a plurality of resilient members for connecting the engine to the vehicle body frame. The resilient member located at the position nearest to the rear wheel is given a resilient property being uniform in the vertical and fore-and-aft directions, and remaining resilient members are given a non-uniform resilient property being hard in the vertical direction and flexible in the fore-and-aft direction. With this configuration, even when the rear wheel moves horizontally in the lateral direction, the influence is attenuated while being transferred to the vehicle body frame. When a resilient member being hard in the vertical direction is used, the behavior of the rear wheel such as the vertical swinging motion or lateral turn can immediately be transferred to the vehicle body frame. Therefore, drivability of the motorcycle during high-speed driving is improved.

  • Patent number: 6826435
Abstract: Tone generator LSI generates a subframe start signal to be interruptively given to a microprogram, by which the microprogram is activated to issue an interrupt signal to a device driver. In response to the interrupt signal, the device driver prepares control data for use in a next frame. The microprogram receives control data from a RAM at the beginning of each frame and calculates control data for individual samples of the frame on the basis of the received control data as well as control data generated for the last sample of an immediately preceding frame, so as to create a plurality of samples of tone data for each subframe. The thus-created tone data are temporarily written into a buffer and then read out from the buffer in accordance with predetermined clock pulses.

  • Patent number: 6621429
Abstract: There are provided a Huffman decoding method and decoder which is capable of carrying out a decoding process at a high speed with a small memory capacity, and requires only a small-sized circuit. Input data encoded by a Huffman code is decoded. A Huffman decoding table is prepared which describes a binary tree corresponding to the Huffman code and having leaves each storing data. A binary tree-based search of the table is carried out based on the input data sequentially acquired by at least one bit to thereby decode the input data encoded by the Huffman code.

  • Patent number: 4993376
Abstract: A spring system for applying a restoring force to a reciprocating member such as an exhaust or intake valve of an internal combustion engine, comprising: a helical spring having open ends and consisting of titanium or an alloy thereof; and a spring seat supporting one of the two ends of the helical spring. Since this helical spring is provided with open ends, mutual striking of the coil wire can be avoided and, thereby, the durability of the helical spring can be ensured in addition to the advantage obtained from the low-mass and high transverse elastic modulus of titanium or its alloy.

  • Patent number: 4911114
Abstract: A device for switching valve operation modes in an internal combustion engine with a rotatable camshaft having cams integral therewith, valves disposed in intake or exhaust ports of the combustion chamber and normally urged closed by a spring, and the valves being openable by the cams through a plurality of rocker arms disposed adjacent to each other for imparting the cam lifts to the valves. A coupling mechanism selectively connects and disconnects the rocker arms by means of pistons in aligned guide holes in the rocker arms movable between positions to either extend across the adjacent sides of the rocker arms or be aligned with such sides. A solenoid is provided in one rocker arm and surrounds a piston to selectively cause movement of that piston. Springs urge the pistons to the position controlled by the solenoid.

  • Patent number: 4909196
Abstract: A valve operating mechanism for an internal combustion engine wherein a plurality of rotatable cams have different cam profiles for operating an intake or exhaust valve differently in high and low speed ranges of the engine. A plurality of rocker arms are selectively connected or disconnected for transmitting the appropriate cam lift to the valve depending on the engine speed range. The cam profiles have dampening areas at the start of opening and the finish of closing of the valve. The dampening areas of the high speed cam have a smaller rate of change than the dampening areas of the low speed cam to minimize the possibility of engagement by a rocker arm with a cam for one speed while the engine is operating at another speed by another cam and rocker arm.

  • Patent number: 4887563
Abstract: Apparatus for controlling the operation of intake or exhaust valves of an internal combustion engine in which cam-driven rocker arms that operate the valves are selectively connected or disconnected for movement in unision or for independent movement in order to open and close the valves in accordance with the various modes of engine operation. Control of the valves is produced by the cooperative effect of hydraulic pressure and variable spring forces whereby more accurate valve operation over a greater number of engine operating modes is achieved.

  • Patent number: 4656977
Abstract: A valve operating mechanism for an internal combustion engine having a pair of intake valves or exhaust valves in each cylinder with a first and a second rocker arm corresponding to the pair of valves and a cam for pivoting the first rocker arm. The rocker arms are provided with a connecting mechanism having a piston assembly which is movable between a position in which both said rocker arms are connected and a position in which both said rocker arms are disconnected from each other whereby either both valves of the pair or only one valve may be selectively actuated. A trigger member in the first rocker arm selectively restricts the movement of the piston and a timing cam engages and actuates the trigger member.
