  • Publication number: 20030132980
Abstract: A method of controlling an ink jet recording apparatus ensures safety in replacing main tanks or the like and at the same time enables stable supply of ink from main tanks to sub-tanks. The apparatus includes a main tank having an information storage section and accommodated in a pressure tank, a sub-tank communicating with an ink jet head for storing ink, a tank-accommodating block for accommodating the main tank, and a control section capable of storing ink information. Valve control is performed in response to respective signals indicative of an ink shortage condition and an ink fill-up condition of the sub-tank, to thereby supply ink to the sub-tank. During operation of the apparatus, in response to a signal indication of opening of a door of the tank-accommodating block, the driving of a pressure source for pressurizing the pressure tank is stopped and the inside of the pressure tank is opened to the atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 6556316
Abstract: Because the dynamic range of a solid-state image sensor is relatively narrow, it is necessary to reduce the amount of light using an aperture so that the amount of light incident on the solid-state image sensor is within the range of the dynamic range. However, the amount of control at this time may exceed a controllable range which is the maximum limit of an amount in which diffraction is not generated. As a result, the amount of control by the aperture is determined so that the amount of control by the aperture does not exceed the controllable range, and an ND filter, which corresponds to or is approximate to the amount of control of reduced light which was obtained by subtracting the amount of control by the aperture from the total amount of control, is placed on an optical path.

  • Patent number: 6152850
Abstract: A toroidal continuous variable transmission is disclosed in which a supporting shaft for mounting a power roller on a trunnion is kept from leaning thereby helping to ensure a stable speed ratio irrespective of operating conditions. A supporting shaft 5 is mounted to a trunnion 4 for pivoting movement and supports rotatably thereon on a rolling body 30 of a power roller 2. The supporting shaft 5 is press fitted in a fit structure 60 of a back plate 31 so as to form an integral unit. The back plate 31 is forced against the trunnion 4 by the action of a thrust force that is applied from the rolling body 30 through rolling elements 57. This suppresses the lean of the supporting shaft 5 relative to the trunnion 4, resulting in elimination speed ratio variations which might otherwise occur owing to a deviation of the rotational axis of the rolling body 30 in a direction along the pivotal shaft of the trunnion.

  • Patent number: 6149796
Abstract: A method of manufacturing an aqueous solution of biocompounds containing peptide as a major component and a hydroxyapatite containing minerals and being useful an inorganic or organic composite material from tissue in an electrolytic cell by performing the electrolysis of an aqueous solution of the tissue and by taking advantage of an electrode reaction using suitable electrodes. In this case, a DC current is passed between the electrodes in the aqueous solution, thereby dissolving and crystallizing the tissue components. After unreacted matters are removed, the resultant mixed solution is separated into solid matters and a liquid. The aqueous solution of biocompounds is obtained from the filtrate, and the hydroxyapatite is obtained from the recrystallized solid matters.

  • Patent number: 6132333
Abstract: When the solenoid valves constituting the transmission ratio control valve should fail electrically, the toroidal continuously variable transmission shifts the transmission ratio toward the speed increasing side to avoid possible dangers of a car while traveling and at the same time cancels variations of the spool valve movement caused by the control oil pressures of the solenoid valve. The two solenoid valves that control the oil pressures acting on the both ends of the transmission ratio control valve having a spool valve are of opposite types, a normally open type and a normally closed type. The duty A and duty B for these solenoid valves are set to equal values (S11). Even when any of the solenoid valves are electrically failed, the transmission ratio of the toroidal speed change unit in the toroidal continuously variable transmission is shifted toward the speed increasing side, which is a safe side for the running car.
