  • Publication number: 20140253436
Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosed technology comprise a handheld display device with built-in accelerometer and, in some embodiments, compass. The display of a human figure is changed based on a change in viewpoint/orientation of the device. That is, upon detecting a change in viewpoint (e.g., viewing angle, tilt, roll, or pitch of the device), the image of the person changes. This may be used with a still picture of a person, such as for the sale of clothing, or in conjunction with moving images, such as for a sports or exercise instructional video.

  • Publication number: 20140230190
Abstract: After traditional door hinges are used to mount a door, a door jamb lock is installed between the door edge and the door jamb. An upper wing is affixed to the door jamb. A lower wing is affixed to the door edge. An upper collar holds the upper wing and a central wing pivot pin. This central wing pivot pin can be pushed down to engage a female receiver in the lower collar and lower wing assembly. When this central wing pivot pin engages a key into the female receiver, the door is locked at a desired angle open. Various embodiments include a spring central wing pivot pin, a simple rod type central pivot pin, a three wing version and a fine tuning set screw model for angle adjustment.

  • Publication number: 20140209728
Abstract: A stator core is formed from a continuous strip of wound sheet stock material, in which the sheet stock material is converted from the sheet stock to a formed material including winding slot cutouts. This strip of formed material is then wound into the stator core, with the winding slot cutouts in the formed material maintained at a substantially constant width throughout most of the radial extent of the resulting winding slots in the finished article. However, one or more of the radially innermost and radially outermost layers may define winding slot cutouts that are wider than the other winding slot cutouts. Where several radial layers are altered in this way, the cutout widths are progressively expanded such that the resulting winding slot has terminal ends with edges that are effectively “radiused” or rounded, thereby protecting windings near the edge of such slots.

  • Patent number: 8786158
Abstract: An apparatus and method for the production of relatively large diameter annular components, such as stator cores for electric motors, without excessive waste of material. In one embodiment, a first progressive die assembly forms a plurality of identical pole pieces each made of a plurality of individual stacked and interlocked laminations. The pole pieces, having protruding end portions, are loaded into a rotary carousel. A second progressive die assembly forms a continuous strip including a plurality of body segments connected via hinge portions disposed adjacent recesses between the body segments that are dimensioned to receive the protruding ends of the pole pieces.

  • Publication number: 20140186216
Abstract: The present invention relates to systems and methods for the rapid in situ determination of the existence of a hook effect and expansion of the dynamic range of a point of care immunoassay. For example, a system for identifying a hook effect and expanding the dynamic range of an immunoassay is provided that may include a primary sensor having first immobilized antibodies that may be configured to generate a first signal based on a presence or absence of a target analyte in a sample. The system may further include an attenuated sensor having second immobilized antibodies at a reduced concentration relative to a concentration of the first immobilized antibodies on the primary sensor and that may be configured to generate a second signal based on the presence or absence of the target analyte in the sample.

  • Publication number: 20140166270
Abstract: A system and method for positioning equipment on a track system where the equipment may descend a wireline or a cable into a borehole for well logging. The equipment may be a drum unit for storing, deploying and retracting the cable, a winch, a dancer unit and an auxiliary power supply. The equipment may be positioned with the track system for either operations or transport. The cable may be threaded through the equipment to descend into the borehole for well logging purposes.

  • Publication number: 20140164209
Abstract: A method allocates quantities of an underlying financial product for a plurality of orders, each being for a quantity of a derivative financial product counter to a previously received order for the derivative financial product and characterized by a ratio of the quantity of the derivative financial product to a quantity of the underlying financial product, and includes receiving first and second orders for quantities of the derivative financial product, computing first and second quantities of the underlying financial product, based on the first and second orders to achieve the ratio, rounding the first quantity to determine a first whole number quantity, generating a composite quantity of the underlying financial product based on the first and second quantities, generating a rounded representation of the composite quantity, and determining a second whole number quantity of the underlying financial product based on the rounded representation and the first whole number quantity.

  • Publication number: 20140139067
Abstract: A metal article, such as a stator core, is formed from a continuous strip of wound sheet stock material including winding slot cutouts. The winding slot cutouts are maintained at a substantially constant width throughout most of the radial extent of the winding slots in the finished article, except that one or more of the first and/or last wound layers (i.e., the radially innermost and radially outermost layers) may define winding slot cutouts that are wider than the other winding slot cutouts. Several radial layers may define cutout widths that are progressively expanded such that the resulting winding slot has terminal ends with edges that defining a stair-step profile that approximates a “radiused” or rounded edge. This rounded edge profile protects windings projecting radially into or outwardly from the winding slots near the edge of such slots.

  • Publication number: 20130269827
Abstract: The system of a dispensing package and a piercing assembly is disclosed. The package has at least one compartment in which a flowable material is located and a fitment secured to the outside of the package at the fitment. The fitment includes a passageway extending therethrough, which is temporarily sealed by a cover. When the cover is removed a piercing assembly can be extended through the fitment and the underlying portion of the package for communication with the flowable material within the compartment. The piercing assembly includes a septum arranged to be pierced by a needle of a syringe to enable the flowable material to be drawn into the syringe.
