  • Publication number: 20120016557
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling a mobile ground working device, such as a trailing suction hopper dredger or bulldozer. The method is characterized in that it comprises at least the steps, proceeding under the control of a central computer via a digital network, of A) presetting an optimum criterion; B) collecting information relating to the current state of the ground; C) collecting information relating to the current state of the ground working device, including at least its position; and D) calculating the control of the ground working device at which the optimum criterion is minimized. Using the invented method ground can be worked with an increased efficiency compared to the known method. The invention likewise relates to a computer program comprising program instructions for having a computer perform the method, and to a computer adapted to run the computer program.

  • Publication number: 20120000098
Abstract: The invention relates to an excavating device, comprising a floating device which can be moved in a navigating direction and to which a drag head (1) is attached which during use is dragged over the bottom (50) and herein loosens soil, and a suction conduit (4) which connects to the drag head (1) and which discharges the loosened soil. The excavating device is provided with a steering device (10) for moving the drag head (1) out of the navigating direction. The invention also relates to a method for excavating ground (50) using the excavating device, and a computer program for performing the method.

  • Publication number: 20110309983
Abstract: One embodiment of the invention includes a computer readable medium configured to perform a method for determining a three-dimensional geolocation of a terrestrial emitter. The method includes receiving a signal from the emitter at an antenna array. The method also includes determining a three-dimensional line-of-position (LOP) to the emitter based on the signal. The three-dimensional LOP can include an azimuth angle and a depression angle. The method further includes calculating the three-dimensional geolocation of the emitter based on an intersection of the three-dimensional LOP with digital terrain elevation data (DTED) associated with the Earth's surface.

  • Publication number: 20090305151
Abstract: A detection method for detecting a property of an extended pattern formed by at least one line generally extending in a first direction. The extended pattern is formed on a substrate or on a substrate table and preferably extends over a length of at least 50× the width of the line. The extended pattern is focus sensitive. The detection method includes moving the substrate table in a first direction and measuring along that first direction a property of the extended pattern. The property can be a result of a physical property of the extended pattern in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. In a next step a calibration of the substrate table position can be derived from the measured position of the extended pattern.

  • Patent number: 6448334
Abstract: Translucent polycarbonate compositions include an aromatic polycarbonate, a cycloaliphatic polyester, and a polyolefin. The compositions have excellent optical characteristics and superior physical properties, particularly low-temperature impact strength, compared to translucent polycarbonate-polyester blends requiring inorganic fillers.

  • Patent number: 5991165
Abstract: A shield for an electronic device having a pair of cooperating printed circuit boards includes an integrated connector for connecting the printed circuit boards. The shield is provided with a frame attachable between the circuit boards and structure attached to the frame for supporting a connector that electrically connects the circuit boards. In one embodiment, the contacts of the connector are embedded in a sub-frame attached to the frame. In another embodiment, a connector holder is formed with the frame for supporting a connector that connects the printed circuit boards. By virtue of the unitary structure, problems associated with tolerance stack-up can be eliminated, and usable printed circuit board area can be maximized.
