  • Patent number: 9613676
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for preventing disturb of untargeted memory cells during repeated access operations of target memory cells are described for a non-volatile memory array. Multiple memory cells may be in electronic communication with a common conductive line, and each memory cell may have an electrically non-linear selection component. Following an access operation (e.g., a read or write operation) of a target memory cell, untargeted memory cells may be discharged by applying a discharge voltage to the common conductive line. The discharge voltage may, for example, have a polarity opposite to the access voltage. In other examples, a delay may be instituted between access attempts in order to discharge the untargeted memory cells.

  • Patent number: 9473871
Abstract: System and methods are provided for audio management. Initial head-related transfer function (HRTF) parameters indicating an initial virtual configuration of a plurality of audio sources are determined. A first user operation is detected through a user interface. Target HRTF parameters are generated in response to the first user operation. A target virtual configuration of the plurality of audio sources is determined based at least in part on the target HRTF parameters.

  • Patent number: 9269398
Abstract: The invention is for player/recording systems for AN content such as DVD+RW, HDD, Blu-ray RE that record content from broadcast. To navigate through the content the player provides menus allowing the user can select content to watch. Passive content is replaced with active agents so that each piece of content will also contain a program part. The action by a user selecting a piece of content to play results in the program part being executed instead of the content being played. This program part displays menus that allow the user to navigate this particular piece of content, or alternatively, the program part may just start playing the AN content. Playing the actual content is under the control of the application. At the end of the content, the application decides the next action, such as displaying another menu. The application chooses when to exit the content (based on user action or end of content) and returns to the player menus.

  • Patent number: 9063955
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for editing program search information. The scene descriptive information of optical disc program is edited into a search information unit when the optical disc program is inscribed on an optical disc or optical disc program is off-line edited. Said scene descriptive information includes description of the scene elements. Then said search information unit is edited into a search information file for use in optical disc search. By means of this solution, searching of keyword information, descriptive information of the scene as well as descriptive information of scene element are unified together and directly used as information to be searched, thus the present invention, being different from the conventional search information file such as the playlist which has only the pointer information but not the descriptive information of the object to be searched, simplifies the process of enhanced search.

  • Patent number: 8982898
Abstract: A Layer 2 network switch is partitionable into a plurality of switch fabrics. The single-chassis switch is partitionable into a plurality of logical switches, each associated with one of the virtual fabrics. The logical switches behave as complete and self-contained switches. A logical switch fabric can span multiple single-chassis switch chassis. Logical switches are connected by inter-switch links that can be either dedicated single-chassis links or logical links. An extended inter-switch link can be used to transport traffic for one or more logical inter-switch links. Physical ports of the chassis are assigned to logical switches and are managed by the logical switch. Legacy switches that are not partitionable into logical switches can serve as transit switches between two logical switches.

  • Patent number: 8792639
Abstract: The present invention provides an extensible disc player that is upgradeable to play new content types. The player's capability can be extended by downloading an appropriate decoder from a web server via the Internet. In this way, the player can play back contents that it does not originally support. If the content type is unknown, the player will check whether the disc contains a URL for linking to a web site containing an appropriate decoder. If the disc contains the URL, the player will access the web site to download the appropriate decoder. In a similar manner, the capability of a recorder can also be expanded by downloading appropriate encoders from the Internet.

  • Patent number: 8532800
Abstract: Simple, computational efficient, and robust audio features are applied in a uniform program indexing method for picking up video segments relating to highlight plays in a recorded program worthy of being reviewed. By focusing on certain frequencies in an audio sequence of the program, a computational complexity of the uniform program indexing method is significantly decreased. With the aid of MFCC coefficients and a DFBE coefficient generated from the MFCC coefficients, audio patterns may be utilized for differentiating exciting events in the program from other unnecessary information. Scores corresponding to various audio segments are regarded as standards for picking up video segments in the program worthy of being chosen in a recorded highlight collection. Some low-level-feature parameters, some video segments having highlight-related visual characteristics, and a re-ranking procedure are utilized for enhancing precision of the scores for providing video segments worthy of being reviewed.

  • Patent number: 8369716
Abstract: An integrated wavelength selectable photodiode includes a device package having an input that receives an optical signal. A set-and-hold, thermally tunable thin-film filter is positioned in the device package and includes an input that is optically coupled to the input of the device package. The set-and-hold, thermally tunable thin-film filter passes light with a predetermined optical bandwidth to an output. An optical element collimates an incident optical beam onto the input of the set-and-hold, thermally tunable thin-film filter. A detector is positioned in the device package and includes an input that is optically coupled to the output of the set-and-hold, thermally tunable thin-film filter. The detector detects data received by the integrated wavelength selectable photodiode.

  • Patent number: 8350072
Abstract: The invention provides a method for producing soluble neodymium chloride complex using neodymium chloride aqueous solution as raw material, thereby avoiding the use of anhydrous neodymium chloride, simplifying the synthesis process and reducing the cost for synthesizing neodymium chloride complex. The neodymium chloride complex produced by this method is soluble not only in polar solvent, but also in nonpolar solvent. Such neodymium chloride complex also has good dissolvability in aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent which has relatively weaker solution power, and even in aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent with 6 or less carbon atoms which has even lower solution power. Since neodymium chloride complex is soluble in aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent, its transportation may be conducted, which is convenient for industrial application and contributes to improve the utilization efficiency of rare earth.
